Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT |

Hard question. I'll try my best to explain tho.
I think BOTNET: is focused on holding loads of clients at once, so they tend to be more stable. Also they tend to do less as they are just for ddosing, loads (running an exe on all of them), and other things like smtp hosts, sms bombing, etc. RAT: Focuses on controlling a handful of people with extra features. Sometimes can have features of a botnet but tend to be less stable. Basically RAT is built for surveillance and botnet is for holding and using multiple compromised devices.
There is no need to post the same thread in 2 different sections.
I'm not using HF much, expect long reply times.

This is the second post you've replied with this to. If you're not going to add anything to the conversation or help explain just fuck off

Botnets are also used for targetting advertising to the infected machine, not just Ddosing.
Botnet: Focused on holding a lot more clients at once, and tend to have fewer features. Mostly used to send DDoS attacks.
RAT: Focused on holding fewer clients but with a lot more features, a rat can sometimes do the same stuff as a botnet would, but they are usually very unstable while holding a lot of clients. Hope this helps, tried my best explaining |
