Is this flash drive real or fake? - Takehito Morokuzu - Aug 14, 2018 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bonlett-Portable-Memory-Sticks-Dustproof/dp/B07F1Q26FM/ref=sr_1_22?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1534283650&sr=1-22&keywords=sandisk+256gb+flash+drive My dad bought a new smart tv and needs it to record live TV, since the TV is 4k the resolution of the old device that could record is not compatible and has a 4:3 aspect ratio. Would this be suitable? He doesn't want to pay a lot of money and the trustworthy brands are double the price of this. RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - Nachfolger - Aug 14, 2018 I found several that are like $40 USD 256gb USB3.0 and name brand. Why would you pay £26 and then when it breaks in a few months, pay more for another one? If he bought a 4k TV, I'm sure he can shell out $40 for a decent flashdrive. RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - Toasties - Aug 14, 2018 I would just buy one from the local shop. That way you also have a guarantee. RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - Hello.v4.0 - Aug 14, 2018 I wouldn't trust a no name brand with all of the fake flash drives that have been going around (ie drives with like 32GB of memory reporting as 256). Not sure about on their UK site, but Amazon sells 256GB SanDisk drives for $40, and it's fulfilled by Amazon themselves so you're covered by 30 day return policy. RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - Takehito Morokuzu - Aug 14, 2018 the 4k tv was the same price as the 1080p tv. He might as well get the 4k one. And the cheapest I get is like £50, and he was literally forced to buy the TV as the old one stopped working completely. Maybe an external HDD would be fine? I found a 1TB one for only £40 so I tihnk that would be fine. He bought a tv for 50 bucks! Whoaaa somebody I know dropped 1k on a 4k tv RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - prada ⠀ - Aug 14, 2018 from my speculation the flash drive is fake RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - Takehito Morokuzu - Aug 14, 2018 (Aug 14, 2018 03:43 PM)Toasties Wrote: He bought a tv for 50 bucks! Sorry for the misunderstanding lol RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - Toasties - Aug 14, 2018 (Aug 14, 2018 03:47 PM)ђคςк Wrote: No lmao, I meant the cheapest brand flash drive was 40-50 GBP. The Internet ones always seem sketchy af. I bought my 55" 4K TV from them for $400 and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of it. If I had a SATA to USB adapter I'd try out a hard drive for you, but I don't see any reason why an external wouldn't work on it. Great quality, my grandad had a smaller, 1080p model and both are great. RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - ᗩᖴᖇᎥᑕᗩᑎ ᑕᕼᎥᒪᗪ - Aug 14, 2018 Forking out 50 isn't a lot for a 256gb flash drive. Hell, you could even buy 2 of these and have the same space, just in 2 separate drives. The thing that makes me skeptical about this drive is that the title says "with the Cap of Dustproof Design." Honestly it's pretty funny though RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - Takehito Morokuzu - Aug 14, 2018 (Aug 14, 2018 05:43 PM)ᗩᖴᖇᎥᑕᗩᑎ ᑕᕼᎥᒪᗪ Wrote: Forking out 50 isn't a lot for a 256gb flash drive. Hell, you could even buy 2 of these and have the same space, just in 2 separate drives. Probably just marketing. I'll probably just get an external HDD, you can get a 1tb for as low as £40 so I think that would be better. RE: Is this flash drive real or fake? - MrArchiveTemp - Aug 15, 2018 Get one from a big name store for a cheap price - that way you've got your back covered if it goes wrong. |
