Is this flash drive real or fake?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bonlett-Portabl...lash+drive

My dad bought a new smart tv and needs it to record live TV, since the TV is 4k the resolution of the old device that could record is not compatible and has a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Would this be suitable? He doesn't want to pay a lot of money and the trustworthy brands are double the price of this.
I found several that are like $40 USD 256gb USB3.0 and name brand. Why would you pay £26 and then when it breaks in a few months, pay more for another one?

If he bought a 4k TV, I'm sure he can shell out $40 for a decent flashdrive.

I would just buy one from the local shop. That way you also have a guarantee.

I wouldn't trust a no name brand with all of the fake flash drives that have been going around (ie drives with like 32GB of memory reporting as 256). Not sure about on their UK site, but Amazon sells 256GB SanDisk drives for $40, and it's fulfilled by Amazon themselves so you're covered by 30 day return policy.
the 4k tv was the same price as the 1080p tv. He might as well get the 4k one.
And the cheapest I get is like £50, and he was literally forced to buy the TV as the old one stopped working completely.
Maybe an external HDD would be fine? I found a 1TB one for only £40 so I tihnk that would be fine.

No lmao, I meant the cheapest brand flash drive was 40-50 GBP.
The TV cost 310 GBP.
Sorry for the misunderstanding lol

Yeah, same. The Internet ones always seem sketchy af.
I sometimes come around and poke a few threads before leaving for a few months again.

TCL, I presume? I bought my 55" 4K TV from them for $400 and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of it. If I had a SATA to USB adapter I'd try out a hard drive for you, but I don't see any reason why an external wouldn't work on it.

Toshiba. Great quality, my grandad had a smaller, 1080p model and both are great.
Forking out 50 isn't a lot for a 256gb flash drive. Hell, you could even buy 2 of these and have the same space, just in 2 separate drives.

The thing that makes me skeptical about this drive is that the title says "with the Cap of Dustproof Design." Honestly it's pretty funny though

Probably just marketing.
I'll probably just get an external HDD, you can get a 1tb for as low as £40 so I think that would be better.
Get one from a big name store for a cheap price - that way you've got your back covered if it goes wrong.
