How often do you seed torrents? - Byte™ - Mar 10, 2019
Because I recently got my upload speed increased to 250 megabits I've been feeling generous and keep seeding for downloads that personally took me forever (downloads where my speed was limited) so I can help someone else out.
It was kinda funny because I've been seeding this new game call satisfactory (A 3d version of Factorio pretty much) which is about 10.5GB, anyways when I woke up I uploaded about 1.2TB worth of data.
So are there exceptions on what you will seed on? I personally won't seed if there are like 1k seeders and only 100 leechers.

I don't seed at all. I only download stuff and my upload isn't that fast.

Depends on the tracker. TPB, yify, etc I don't seed. For private trackers I've got a seedbox. Currently seeding around 250 torrents.

I rarely will leave a seed going unless I forget it. I don't use my bandwidth for that lol.

I seed the same amount of data that I downloaded 🤝

I feel like seeding is maintaining a connection with the file, thus law enforcement can snif that.
I'm safer of without seeding..

I seed constantly (gotta get that good karma to offset all the bad things I do), my only problem is that I've been using Comcast for two years now, so my ratio dropped from >18 to just over 9. I moved into a new house with gigabit upload, though, so it's time to get that ratio back up.

I seldom torrent, but I tend not to. It's a bad habit of mine.

If the torrent is near-dead then I'll seed it for a couple of hours.

I don't seed. I'm a greedy asshole, sure.
RE: How often do you seed torrents? - GiraffeBear - Mar 10, 2019
I don't seed at all because I seldom torrent myself.

Depends on the number of seeders. If its <10 and a rare torrent I'll seed indefinitely.
Seed popular games and TV shows till 3:1. I seeded ~1.5 TB on a popular TV show once. Crazy.

I use private tracker sites for most of my torrenting, and I have a seedbox, so I leave most things seeding for at least a week or two.
If I find something rare that only had a few seeds to start with, I will leave it going indefinitely until I need the hard drive space on the seedbox for something else.
