The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - HSGM - Jul 7, 2019 I know it wasn't the intention of omni or staff, but the tutorials section of HF has turned into a pile of shit with idiots posting very quick guides they spent 3 seconds on, with basically almost nothing to do with hacking. Things like how to set a proxy, change user-agent, etc. I'm not gonna call anyone out cause I understand people just want the award and aren't posting with malicious intent, but its annoying as shit. I was gonna write some of my own tutorials as well but as this point it would be drowned out by people spamming 10 LQ threads in a row. Not even sure what to suggest doing, but at least some type of limit of threads per day/week/etc would help at least slow down the spam. RE: The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - Money- - Jul 7, 2019 I do notice some quick threads about that lol. To be honest lets see what Omi thinks of this. Maybe some requirements for these type of threads. RE: The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - Omniscient - Jul 7, 2019 Some awards are going to be removed because we're converting the section into Approved only threads. RE: The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - Axe - Jul 7, 2019 Just took a look, damn thats a lot of LQ threads. "How to reverse image search > Use TinEye". Really? RE: The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - Omniscient - Jul 7, 2019 I put Mentors on it to watch for LQP. I’m glad you noticed some of the LQP in the section n spam RE: The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - +mK - Jul 7, 2019 (Jul 7, 2019 11:47 AM)Omniscient Wrote: All those threads look perfectly fine to me. What's wrong with their content? It could be argued that the following threads aren't even hacking: [How-to] View your own WiFi Password in windows 10 (No tools) [How-to] Enable GODMODE in Windows 10 An example that is a tutorial on hacking would be something like this: (Kali Linux Tutorial) How to scan for open ports with built-in Metasploit Scanner RE: The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - McDolands - Jul 7, 2019 These tutorials help bring traffic to hf and do a whole lot for SEO. What's wrong with their content?Maybe a character requirement would fix the issue? Just so you can't simply types 4 sentences and call it a tutorial. What's wrong with their content? Just the fact he made 10 tutorials in a row it clearly wasn't to help people out but rather to get the award. "How to download a video from a website" come on now... RE: The "bronze tutorial award" is ruining the tutorial section. - ririki - Jul 7, 2019 I wouldn't exactly call them "hacking tutorials" but they are just fine imo. I can see them being helpful for many members. |
