Improving English - Stylistic - jesuschristisfake - Jul 12, 2019 English is not my first language but I would definitely say I have a decent control over it and am using it more than my own language on a day-to-day basis. The problem is that although I can communicate through it simply and with ease, I cannot think of any complex idioms, metaphors, and other ''stylistic'' tools, which, as a dude who wants to write raps and songs, is pretty fucking important. Is there any chance I can learn to express myself with these as a non-native speaker, or is it just too much, and my brain just won't be able to catch these? I'm a native speaker but I always excelled in English Literature and Language lessons because I read a lot as a kid.
