Any ideas how to find Remote programming job? - casuall - Aug 1, 2019

Hey,

Anyone here had success in finding a remote job? Currently i'm working fulltime (40hours/week) in a software enineering company as Software Engineer.
I'm looking for some extra work which I could do from home. I believe I could get 20-30hours per week.
Anyone had success in finding anything like that? I'm from Europe if that matters.

You can use websites like freelancer to advertise your services, you can work remotely for hourly charge.

Useless advice honestly. I do have job as software engineer, i'm looking for something extra - like 20-30 hours per week, which would be mostly on weekends.
Such times do not suit everyone, so i'm looking for partner who would be ok with me working on weekends mostly.

You can always approach jobs you like the look of and ask if remote working would be an option. Sometimes they allow it but don't advertise it, so it's always another avenue to explore.

You can also try googling for companies that normally allow remote working and keep an eye out for any future openings from them.

I have been doing remote work for the past few years now and I have never employed myself nor worked for any company on a full-time basis. There are tons of forums, classified ads page, and employment websites you can look at. Since you have a full-time, it won't be a problem for you and you have experience.

A good place to start is at classified ads page such as Craigslist. Try to either post an ad (never share personal information just your skills and maintain pure discretion of your experience) or maybe look at ads that are looking for a certain service like web development projects or software development projects. It's just a matter of negotiation so that you get what you want and you will never be scammed. Take note that, when you look for part-time work at Craigslist, always be careful with scammers or people who will ditch you when work is done. This issue is not just at Craigslist but almost everywhere in the net and I have experienced it also.

Anyway, good luck to you and happy hunting! 🤝
