Task Manager network usage at zero while performance tab is not - webdev77 - Apr 16, 2020 I found an interesting failure of task manager today. The network usage on the Processes tab of task manager shows 0% network use while the Performance tab shows network activity happening. Can anyone else replicate this behavior? Do you know what's up or did you had the same, for example? The column remains static at 0% regardless of actual usage. The plot on the performance tab shows what I believe is the actual usage. Spoiler (Click to View) To be clear here, several of these processes are using internet. I loaded a youtube video to get the pulses seen here and my browser process still shows 0% on the Processes tab. I don't use CCleaner or similar and am also fairly confident I have no malicious software. I think this is just a Windows bug but want to confirm. I have CCleaner, Visual Studio, Malwarebytes, Microsoft Edge, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Fiddler, and a few other programs that I am 100% confident aren't malware and I have the same issue. I'm on Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362 RE: Task Manager network usage at zero while performance tab is not - Angela White - Apr 16, 2020 (Apr 16, 2020 03:00 PM)M0HX Wrote: ditch using ccleaner. I was using it in the past but due to security/malware breaches and the company being sold to avast I don't trust it anymore. I don’t plan using CCleaner or Malwarebytes soon. My new SSD comes in the mail on Saturday and I’m going “clean” after that. RE: Task Manager network usage at zero while performance tab is not - webdev77 - Apr 17, 2020 I finally tracked down the problem and it is attributed to Windows updates not cleaning things up properly. The Network Data Usage Monitoring Driver was stopped and never restarted. To enable (admin cmd): Code sc config ndu start=autoRE: Task Manager network usage at zero while performance tab is not - A + - May 7, 2020 (Apr 17, 2020 09:50 AM)webdev77 Wrote: I finally tracked down the problem and it is attributed to Windows updates not cleaning things up properly.
