Forum - New Thread Notifications - Xerotic - Jul 29, 2020
Today we introduce a new notification option - the ability to subscribe to an entire subforum. This means that you will receive a notification when new threads are posted there.
Subscribing to a forum is very easy to do.
Visit a forum that you would like to subscribe to. Example... the HF News section: https://hackforums.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=162
Near the "New Thread" button there are a couple of icons.

(if you do not see both of these icons, clear your cache or press CTRL + F5)
You are interested in the paperclip. Click that and you'll be subscribed to the forum. Easy.
You'll know that you are subscribed to a forum because if you are, the icon will change:

Simply click the changed icon to remove the forum subscription.
Now, when somebody creates a new thread in the subscribed forum you will receive a notification.

The current Notify feature isn't years old, so I can't imagine that being true. Forum subscriptions (email) has existed before.

Wont be subscribed to the lounge but, probably will subscribe to "Health Wise," "Buyers Bay," and "Webmaster Marketplace." I seem to find myself in those the most often.
