Forum Subscription Changes - Xerotic - Aug 11, 2020

A couple weeks ago we added the ability to receive on-site/push notifications when you are subscribed to a subforum. However, if you did this then you also received the emails for that subforum subscription. Today we give you the option to choose between notification types.
You can be notified of new subforum threads via...
- On-site/Push
- Email
- Private Message
It's easy to do. Check out my reference thread linked above for the general instructions and see below for what's changed.
Now, when you click on the subscription icon you will receive this popup:

You can easily update your forum subscription setting right there. Choose whether to change your settings, remove it, or do nothing.
Since we didn't want to be presumptuous when deciding which should be the default notification type for existing forum subscriptions, we have reset them all. If you want to be subscribed to a forum you should go subscribe to now. All forum subscriptions created before this thread's creation have been cleared.

I finally can get rid of email notifcations. On-site notifcation could work well for me.

So basically anytime a new thread, is posted you get a notification?
Or is it for every reply, everything? A little lost on what all you get notified for.

AFAIK, you get the notification for each thread created in that section. I doubt it notifies you for every reply.

Please review the reference thread listed at the start of the OP here. This thread serves as an improvement over that notification type.

Yeah. I noticed this update earlier today. The icon was displayed alongside "Mark this Forum as Read" . Very cool update Xero. Thanks for doing this !!
