To all non native English speakers on HF. - Mr. Robot - Sep 7, 2020 This is my updated alert to remind you to use "Grammarly" - the add on for your browser. Not only will it make sure your sentences have correct pronunciations and spelling but if you highlight a word you don't understand, it will tell you the meaning.
RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - Perileos - Sep 7, 2020 Tbh I don't really care about using proper spelling/grammar on an internet forum based on hacking. It's not like my ass is applying for a job. You are far more likely to get replies on serious questions for learning when you make sense. Grammarly also has a "tone detector" which will tell you how your sentence sounds - whether it comes across aggressive/angry or cheerful and friendly. This is an interesting feature going to have to check it out I’m bad with getting my tone across in text RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - 01001 - Sep 7, 2020 I always use Grammarly, but most of the time, it's with no errors at all. Besides, the tone that I choose often matches my context, and Grammarly is there to confirm the same! P.S.: I'm not a native speaker, though. RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - Blockonome - Sep 7, 2020 If your english is completely broken, then I can totally understand this, but not if you are good with the English language lol :D RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - .Alpha. - Sep 7, 2020 Still good for checking over small mistakes when you send emails and stuff even if you are a native speaker. RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - PokeBong - Sep 7, 2020 The tone detector feature is a nice add... RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - Τroye - Sep 7, 2020 I'm not native but I do believe that I speak english really well, but I still have grammarly just in case I mess up. Most of the time it just helps me correct spelling mistakes which I'm too lazy to fix myself manually. haha RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - phunted - Sep 7, 2020 I couldn't agree more, for those pointing out its a forum and not a job application.. Why not apply the same principles online and you'd be surprised with how much you'll pick up. You should always try to communicate clearly. RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - jecoylecoy - Sep 7, 2020 Thank you for this OP, I might try this :) RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - OBAMASELF - Sep 7, 2020 Feels like everyone on HF have decent english but Grammarly is one way to go for Essays. RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - J4mmy - Sep 7, 2020 Hackforums has given me so much regarding correct pronounciation and words that I did not know before I joined. For past 10 years I have vastly improved my skills in english as a non native speaker of it. Will use this and I must say, it has helped me in real life, business etc greatly of what I've picked up from here. RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - Eagle 95 - Sep 8, 2020 Also to a good portion of native speakers, too. :) RE: To all non native English speakers on HF. - Free Kurdistan - Sep 8, 2020 I will keep this in mind for the future, thanks for sharing. |
