[ ADVICE NEEDED ] - "Trusted" members with toxic TOS marketing strategies - Lrrr - Dec 1, 2020 I have seen a massive up-tick in shady Terms of Service along with marketing gimmicks to basically make any kind of refund impossible. I may understand this tactic for specific (trust me, very specific cases)...but on the whole, these TOS are bullshit. Let me give you a perfect example of what I mean in action (but trust me, this is not the only tos horror story) Today, I decided to buy-in to the Panthers Poker Competition (https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6124478). About an hour after I bought in, I realized that I had miscalculated (my own fault) the starting time of the contest and that I wouldn't be able to make it. Now those are literally the facts. I bought in, I agreed to the following contract: Spoiler (Click to View) Ok Now I agreed to this contract and that's fine, but I would like to point out that it's sketchy to add a TOS in a thread which you are then free to change at will. That seems sketchy sorry. In any case, I agreed to the contract. So let's take a look at the TOS at the time I purchased (now I have to take a screen shot because the TOS can change at any time i guess!?!?) Spoiler (Click to View) Ok as the TOS states: Code If you dont turn up then you get no refund game is simple 1st 2nd 3rd prizes. all entree pot will go together and we will sort the prizes out.So I hit up @Zeus@ who is running the contest and asked for a refund...here is how our incredibly toxic conversation went. Spoiler (Click to View) So that's about the end of it....I didn't want to dispute the transaction because I'm not entirely sure if what he says about his TOS is accurate...it seems like I would be entitled to a refund. The larger point, is why all the blaming and hassle over something that literally hasn't even happened yet. I gave the dude money without reading and doing timezone conversion. I made a mistake. I asked for a refund or a chance to play in a another different tourney. Then after I get the bare minimum out of him (offering me a free entry to another tourney) he calls me a loser....which leads me to believe that he would simply say I didn't show up for the tourney gg. And that's the problem...why are some sellers so hell bent on keeping their money at all costs. I always try to do good business and I understand sometimes refunds just can't happen but when did sellers start literally trying to strong arm Omni into a convo about $25 dollar competition that didn't even happen yet. Open to opinions. RE: [ ADVICE NEEDED ] - "Trusted" members with toxic TOS marketing strategies - Lavish Living - Dec 1, 2020 Put this user on your ignore and never deal with him or associate yourself with him. That's been my best decision months ago. It's funny seeing all the scummy, low life, toxic shit he's done over the past year. What's up with you always asking for refunds for poker tournies tho??? kappa. RE: [ ADVICE NEEDED ] - "Trusted" members with toxic TOS marketing strategies - SIM-2327840 - Dec 1, 2020 Ive seen a lot of drama with Zeus but never realised how much of a clown he is. LOL. No thread from a ToS should be able to be editted and I think ToS should stick to a contract once created. RE: [ ADVICE NEEDED ] - "Trusted" members with toxic TOS marketing strategies - Zeus - Dec 1, 2020 It’s simple you buyin there is no refunds in there tos if you don’t enter. You bought in seen the whole thread because you didn’t look at the time you want a refund when you completed the contract. And it is all done once entering why would you ask for a refund. Have a good day. Don’t purchase something you can’t be there on time simple. Stricter the contract links to thread with the terms on the thread? ![]() ![]() Contradiction at its finest RE: [ ADVICE NEEDED ] - "Trusted" members with toxic TOS marketing strategies - Lrrr - Dec 1, 2020 (Dec 1, 2020 09:50 PM)Zeus Wrote: It’s simple you buyin there is no refundsYou missed the entire point of the post...the question is why can't I refund? The tos is slimey as fuck. Thats the point. Also your tos does not say no refunds it says no refunds if you don't show up. Quote:Stricter the contract links to thread with the terms on the thread? Yes. Absolutely yes. The tos needs to be in the contract and uneditable by anyone. This is a tournament not a product, if admins think I should refund you then I shall if not then have a good day. RE: [ ADVICE NEEDED ] - "Trusted" members with toxic TOS marketing strategies - Angela White - Dec 1, 2020 I don't even like Zeus but I will admit it's kinda shitty to buy in to something and then immediately cancel as that usually does kind of fuck with the pot / entire tournament much love for you though Lrrr RE: [ ADVICE NEEDED ] - "Trusted" members with toxic TOS marketing strategies - Zeus - Dec 1, 2020 (Dec 1, 2020 10:00 PM)KasprDev Wrote: I don't even like Zeus but I will admit it's kinda shitty to buy in to something and then immediately cancel as that usually does kind of fugg with the pot / entire tournament Exactly now I put him in the pot why should I have to go in my $ to keep his 25$ that he put in to refund him? Have to understand it from my point.
