I have seen a massive up-tick in shady Terms of Service along with marketing gimmicks to basically make any kind of refund impossible. I may understand this tactic for specific (trust me, very specific cases)...but on the whole, these TOS are bullshit.
Let me give you a perfect example of what I mean in action (but trust me, this is not the only tos horror story)
Today, I decided to buy-in to the Panthers Poker Competition (https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6124478). About an hour after I bought in, I realized that I had miscalculated (my own fault) the starting time of the contest and that I wouldn't be able to make it.
Now those are literally the facts. I bought in, I agreed to the following contract:

Ok Now I agreed to this contract and that's fine, but I would like to point out that it's sketchy to add a TOS in a thread which you are then free to change at will. That seems sketchy sorry. In any case, I agreed to the contract.
So let's take a look at the TOS at the time I purchased (now I have to take a screen shot because the TOS can change at any time i guess!?!?)

Ok as the TOS states:
So I hit up @Zeus@ who is running the contest and asked for a refund...here is how our incredibly toxic conversation went.

So that's about the end of it....I didn't want to dispute the transaction because I'm not entirely sure if what he says about his TOS is accurate...it seems like I would be entitled to a refund.
The larger point, is why all the blaming and hassle over something that literally hasn't even happened yet. I gave the dude money without reading and doing timezone conversion. I made a mistake. I asked for a refund or a chance to play in a another different tourney.
Then after I get the bare minimum out of him (offering me a free entry to another tourney) he calls me a loser....which leads me to believe that he would simply say I didn't show up for the tourney gg.
And that's the problem...why are some sellers so hell bent on keeping their money at all costs. I always try to do good business and I understand sometimes refunds just can't happen but when did sellers start literally trying to strong arm Omni into a convo about $25 dollar competition that didn't even happen yet.
Open to opinions.
