Can anyone Identify this hash with salt? - Wolf. - Feb 4, 2021 Hey, So I know about hashes and salts, but Im really no expert in it, and I've never come across this format of salt before, Could anyone help me identify it so I can crack it? My first thoughts were Juniper or a Cisco type 7 hash, but i think they've already been mentioned. This one is rather puzzling, I had my cracking rig setup earlier and was going to get cracking a few hashes. Going to keep up to date with this thread as I'm curious. EDIT: only the Juniper one was mentioned - I'm starting to think this is a custom hashing algorithm if the hash isn't related to any Cisco/Juniper gear RE: Can anyone Identify this hash with salt? - satimon - Feb 5, 2021 (Feb 5, 2021 11:18 AM)Yoda_warrior Wrote: Looks like a BTC address without salt, no idea otherwise :'( This is a truncated hash (should be 32 characters long) with salt. How are you going to come in here so confidently and attempt to rip apart other users for "not knowing anything"? I guarantee they know more than you buddy, have some respect. Looking at your post history, I can tell you really like to start fights and think you know everything huh RE: Can anyone Identify this hash with salt? - satimon - Feb 6, 2021 (Feb 6, 2021 01:42 AM)orbit._ Wrote: How are you going to come in here so confidently and attempt to rip apart other users for "not knowing anything"? You didn't even know what a juniper hash looks like until I showed it, so don't post junk posts because it's a shame (Feb 5, 2021 01:55 PM)orbit._ Wrote: My first thoughts were Juniper or a Cisco type 7 hash, but i think they've already been mentioned. There is no such Cisco type 7 hash and other Cisco hashes are not even similar to the hash from the first post Stop writing about hashes that you don't know anything about and learn more ! Dude, I literally mentioned Juniper before you? And a 2 second search https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cisco+type+7+hash shows that it is a thing. And a 2 second search https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cisco+type+7+hash shows that it is a thing. Read with understanding: "A type 7 password is not actually encrypted at all it is simply encoded." Cisco hashes don't have salt, don't have username (except Cisco-ASA MD5) and look different than hash from first post. I repeat no Hashes Cisco type 7, proof example hashes link: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=example_hashes Stop writing about hashes that you don't know anything about and learn more ! |
