PC NOT posting after CPU Upgrade - LMPara - Jul 14, 2024 So I'm working on an older build just trying to update it with parts I have, and when changing out the CPU from a ryzen 5 2600x to a ryzen 7 5700x, for some reason my second ram stick is not being read at all. Here are the specs below: GTX 1660 Super Ryzen 7 5700x Taichi x570 Motherboard 2x8gb T-FORCE VulcanZ RAM The PC wouldn't post at all with both ram sticks in, however would boot perfectly fine with just one in. I've updated the BIOS to all different versions and tried a few different BIOS path steps up to certain versions as others have said fixed theirs, but nothing has worked. Finally, I downgraded BIOS to 3.60 and now it is posting with BOTH RAM sticks in, however the second RAM stick is not being detected at all, just showing 8gb with 1 ram slot filled. At this point I've tried almost everything and not sure what else it could be. I've reseated my CPU, reseated RAM in different slots including trying the second RAM stick in the first slot to make sure it worked (it did), and all sorts of BIOS settings, underclocking, and more to try and fix it but it just isn't working. Any help from folks familiar with the Taichi X570 or in general would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! RE: PC NOT posting after CPU Upgrade - DramaKing - Jul 14, 2024 Contact technical support. Could be instability of some kind. RE: PC NOT posting after CPU Upgrade - Bastille - Jul 14, 2024 Hello, It doesn't sound like a hardware problem as you stated that : - both stick RAM worked previously - both stick RAM work when put alone (so no faulty stick RAM) - both stick RAM work when put alone and on different slots (so no faulty RAM slot) From ASRock website they recommend using BIOS version P4.80 for Ryzen 7 5700X and X570 Taichi : https://www.asrock.com/support/cpu.fr.asp?s=AM4&u=694 ![]() Let us know how it goes RE: PC NOT posting after CPU Upgrade - F4tDoinkz - Jul 14, 2024 Bios update most likely look up how to do that. RE: PC NOT posting after CPU Upgrade - Moooookie - Jul 15, 2024 I too, would recommend updating the BIOS firmware and trying it again, and if the problem persists contact the manufacturer support directly. If they have good support, then it might be an issue they're already familiar with. |
