Assistance with Hash Type - Juicep0p - Sep 29, 2024 Hello all, I have a few hashes, which are as follows: Code f29e1a9dfdffa0b62c813f9d2868fb91ff5f4768029e2cf210054d3a1ad16da9I don't normally seek help as I like to figure things out on my own without bothering others in this sea of script kiddies wanting freebies. I've tried to figure out what hash types these are, but to no avail. I'll save you some time from running it through a simple hash identifier tool. They appear to be SHA2-256, but they're not. I've also tried Keccak-256, sha256(utf16le($pass)), GOST, and about 5 others. I've tried every possible attack combination including dictionary, rule set, mask, etc and nothing is wanting to crack these. Keep in mind this is just a sample of the hash list, so the odds of at least getting one would be high. Does anyone have any idea what they might be? Also, if you can tell me how you figured it out, I'd like to learn so I can figure it out in the future. I'm not looking for anyone to crack them, just wanting them identified. I appreciate any help someone could throw my way. RE: Assistance with Hash Type - Regulus - Sep 29, 2024 account_ can probably help you out with this. Do you have a hash with known plaintext so that you know it's not SHA-256? Or are you just assuming that if the algorithm was correct, you would have cracked some of the hashes? Where did these hashes come from? Could be salted SHA-256 with no salt. RE: Assistance with Hash Type - account_ - Sep 29, 2024 Thanks Regulus for the mention. Like DramaKing as posted SHA-256. But from my experience, if you have a huge list of hashes, even getting just one tells you you're doing things correctly. I wasn't getting that, so I figured there was something I was missing. I appreciate everyone's feedback and responses. I'll take it back to the drawing board. Thanks again!🙂 |
