watch stopped working - accrued - Nov 13, 2024 Went to a store and they quoted me 150$ How much should a store charge for a watch fix?? RE: watch stopped working - Bastille - Nov 13, 2024 I guess that it depends on the watch, what model do you have ? RE: watch stopped working - accrued - Nov 13, 2024 (Nov 13, 2024 07:18 AM)Bastille Wrote: I guess that it depends on the watch, what model do you have ? seiko. its stopped at 6pm sharp. small shop downtown, owner out of town, 150$? RE: watch stopped working - Rionxee - Nov 13, 2024 Like Bastille said, it depends on the type of watch and also which components are potentially broken. We would need the model to determine if its a reasonable price. RE: watch stopped working - BiNBo - Nov 13, 2024 Some of the older Seikos, especially their chronographs, are actually impressively complex. Popular for vintage collectors. Nonetheless, if it's a vintage piece that price does make sense. Though, as stated, it depends on the watch. I'd do some research and find out what you have and go from there. Maybe see about another quote if there's other shops around. RE: watch stopped working - narubasu - Nov 13, 2024 That is a fair price for a seiko RE: watch stopped working - Jamika - Nov 13, 2024 (Nov 13, 2024 07:17 AM)accrued Wrote: Went to a store and they quoted me 150$ Idk the rates , but at this price u should buy a new one instead RE: watch stopped working - Pimping - Nov 13, 2024 Yep most likely depends on the watch and what is wrong with it exactly look online and see quotes or negotiate with them RE: watch stopped working - RangoWorld - Nov 14, 2024 (Nov 13, 2024 07:17 AM)accrued Wrote: Went to a store and they quoted me 150$ As much as you are willing to pay to be honest. Generally for me the rule is if a broken election or a luxury item like a watch costs more than 50% of the retail price to buy a new one. Then I won't fix it and save to buy the new model. But it's up to you. Depending on the damage and/or intricacies to fix the watch and the watch value. $150 might be reasonable. RE: watch stopped working - jamesmcdgen39 - Nov 16, 2024 That is a fair price for a seiko RE: watch stopped working - accrued - Jan 8, 2025 fixed the watch $96 got two pieces inside! RE: watch stopped working - Omniscient - Jan 8, 2025 We have to know what they are fixing. You can't just saying you brought your broken car to a mechanic and they want $4k to fix without giving us more information. And in basically any circumstance with quotes for fixing/repair don't be afraid to shop it around. RE: watch stopped working - _SyncX404 - Jan 9, 2025 Here in Slovenia, on more expensive watches you have free basic repairs, if you broke something then you have to pay a little but it's nothing much, so 150$ for watch repair seems pricy RE: watch stopped working - plops - Jan 9, 2025 If its a sentimental piece, $150 seems reasonable for a seiko. But if the price is a problem id do what jamika said and buy a new one |
