To be fair a lot of shit from China is a security risk, I deal with real Chinese people regularly for importing and even on their own Domestic Amazon (1688) I get nickle and dime scammed constantly, if I don't bring up that something is missing I will not be getting a refund, Chinese people are scamming the Chinese, god knows how they would treat the rest of the globe lol. But targeting every thing that they make and citing national security every single time is going way overboard. Just because better shit came out of China doesn't mean its a national security risk. RE: DeepSeek AI's Data Practices Raise U.S. National Security Alarms [what next?] - RangoWorld - Jan 29, 2025 I thought Trump liked the competition. He said that cheap is good and that it was a good wake up call for us. On a serious note. The open source models can be run by anyone or tweaked with locally or via cloud. Every variable of it which the person running it can control. No national data security risk there. As far as I can see. That being said the mobile and web app DeepSeek runs for free for everyone does run on their servers. So Americans is being used by China to improve their AI advancements. Though this is nothing new as we have seen the TikTok journey. RE: DeepSeek AI's Data Practices Raise U.S. National Security Alarms [what next?] - Flan. - Jan 29, 2025 Wow, the impact of DeepSeek AI on national security and the stock market is definitely making waves. It'll be interesting to see how the U.S. government responds to these concerns. Hopefully, they can find a balance between innovation and security. |
