Really liking the reentry of this group on to the forum. There seems to be a lot of interested members who want to learn and progress their knowledge in cyber security. Excited to see what comes of this group in the future.

RE: [MRT-X] Official MRT-X Recruitment Thread [Open][Apply Now!] - Bastille - Mar 15, 2025

Really hyped by the coming back of this group

I remember when I registered in 2018, the original group was just removed by Omni, I messaged Aura few times asking him for tips for malware removal, now providing help for beginners 7 years later.

Anyone intersted in cybersecurity should join the MRT-X Academy to learn about malware removal and malware analysis

Good luck to every applicant to this HQ group with really skilled members !

This looks much more promising now. I had my concerns early but the recent few changes has made me change my view on this.

I'm looking forward to adding malware removal to my resume.

MRT-X is a very high quality group of individuals with an extraordinary motivation to learn & grow together as a group, and most importantly to help the HF community.

If there's ever been a time where you wanted to truly learn or improve your cybersecurity skillset; this is your chance!

Indeed. I just saw it when I had replied to your post. My apologies for being inactive during the first week of the group being founded whilst studying for mid-terms and negotiating a deal with a client that would help secure my rent for the next 3-4 months.

Perhaps an activity requirement when joining your group should be required before extending offers to other members.

Why do you want to become part of MRT-X?

I've wanted to join the MRT of HackForums since it was first established here. It's been a long time goal of mine to be a part of this team and involve myself with other cybersecurity professionals who want to make the world a better place rather than torch it. In the past, I was inexperienced and didn't feel confident enough to try and become a member of the original MRT or HJT team. I didn't know enough to be able to contribute meaningfully but it's been a few years since then and I've established a level of expertise where I am able to contribute and learn from others in the group.

How active are you on HackForums?

I'm not going to bullshit you, I only merely lurk now and haven't been as active as I used to be. I used to be active, post tutorials, and be more involved in the hacking sections but I put that behind me as I lost interest in engaging with others and would mostly skim the hacking sections of the forums to see what was being discussed before leaving the site. I didn't have a reason to engage or be more involved but this group has my interest and I would have a reason to be more active. I understand it's a risk and it's no hard feelings if you want to avoid the risk entirely.

What sections on HackForums are you most active in?

I tend to pay attention to the hacking sections of the forums. I used to be involved in the gaming sector as well but majority of my focus is in the Black Hat, Grey Hat, and White Hat sections with their own respective sub-sections.

Do you participate in any black hat activity past or present?

No, I have no interest in Black Hat activity.

What interests you the most about MRT-X?

It's a group of actual white hats or people interested in becoming white hats. A large majority of people here tend to be mostly interested in the black or grey hat groups but I want to network with others who can consider themselves cyber professionals and improve things for the greater good instead of fuck things up chasing money. I want to be involved in that and contribute toward that goal.

What are your current skillsets?

Pen testing, red team, incident response, and I'm currently trying to learn reverse engineering. I've never been a software developer so it's a project I've been working toward to improve my own skillsets.

What programming languages are you proficient in?

Python - Working level
C++ - Average
Java - Average
Assembly - Beginner

Do you have a willingness to learn new things?

I love to learn new things. It's partly why I still remain somewhat active here. I always come back to see what is being developed, any new tools of the trade, and if there's any interesting guides available.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths:

- Strong foundation in offensive security and a decent understanding of defensive security.
- Cybersecurity enthusiast. I learn to love about the field and will spend most of my time just researching new information.
- Mentor. I like teaching those with a passion in cyber and explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences.

Weaknesses:

- Lack of engagement. I need to have something that interests me to keep my attention. If I don't have something actively challenging me to new levels, I will struggle to maintain concentration on that topic.

What can you bring to the group?

I'm more than willing to contribute to the MRT-X's goal of removing malware for users on HackForums. I want to engage more in that field and would be someone willing to take the lead, rather than sit by and occasionally assist. I have a core foundation in many topics as well, including Linux, which would mean I can be cross-trained into fields of interest in the future to help with issues surrounding malware removal from Linux systems. Lastly, I'm experienced with pen testing and red team trade-craft and TTP. Aside from the obvious offensive perspective I could provide, I can use this information for the benefit of the group so long as we remain White Hat focused.

Why should you be accepted?

I do genuinely want to contribute and be a part of MRT-X to help users. I don't care about the emblem, title, or the other benefits. I want to be involved in the training and applying that knowledge to help others that ask for it. I remember being very interested in The Brotherhood and the help they provided in the White Hat section. I would like to be involved in a group that mirrors that type of ethical behavior.

If accepted, will you participate in the Malware Removal Training Academy?

I would prefer to actually. That is one of the core interests I have in joining the group.

Are you able to dedicate at least an hour a day to MRT-X?

Yep, I tend to log on for about an hour or two daily to check-in on anything new so adding another hour shouldn't be too much of an issue.

RE: [MRT-X] Official MRT-X Recruitment Thread [Open][Apply Now!] - Tyr - Apr 3, 2025

Why do you want to become part of MRT-X?
I want to join MRT-X to leverage my cybersecurity expertise and contribute to the ethical removal of malware. My background in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and network security aligns well with MRT-X’s mission. Having worked on various security-focused projects, including penetration testing, automatic port scanning programs, and bot automation, I believe I can apply my knowledge to detect and remediate malware threats effectively.

How active are you on HackForums?
I am active weekly, engaging in discussions related to cybersecurity, programming, and ethical hacking. I frequently contribute by sharing insights on security practices and assisting others in troubleshooting issues. I also like to network with others here and learn more about human behavior.

What sections on HackForums are you most active in?
In all honest, I do have a fairly high post count in the whitehat, tech, lounge and cryptocurrency sections. However, I believe you need to understand all aspects of human behavior on this forum to qualify for this group. With this said, here are the sections I intend to be most active in, should I be accepted to MRT-X:
  • Malware, Rat, and Virus Removal
  • White Hat Hacking
  • Private Investigation Methods and OpSec
  • Pentesting and Forensics
  • IoT, Embedded Systems, Electronics, Gadgets, and DIY
  • Bug Bounties
  • Software Development
  • Web Development
  • Coder's Lounge

Do you participate in any black hat activity past or present?
No, I strictly follow ethical hacking principles. My focus has always been on legal, ethical cybersecurity work, including penetration testing, malware analysis, and system security improvements. Additionally, I am ISO/ANSI certified with my CompTIA triad (A+, N+, S+) and the last thing I would want to do is ruin my ability to use my certificates in combination with my college diploma to find a job within cybersecurity.

What interests you the most about MRT-X?
I am particularly interested in the hands-on malware analysis, remediation strategies, and collaborative learning environment MRT-X offers. The structured training and real-world problem-solving align with my career path in cybersecurity.

What are your current skillsets?
Malware analysis, ethical hacking (5 years of experience with Kali), network security (own a preconfigured IDPS), penetration testing (self taught SQLi via blind SQL injection at an early age), programming/database engineering (Python, C++, C#, SQL, SQLite). Automation and scripting using Scapy, Mineflayer, Baritone for AI-driven bot navigation, Cybersecurity research and exploit mitigation, Web security and SQL-based vulnerabilities.

What programming languages are you proficient in?
  • Python – Used for automation, penetration testing, and cybersecurity scripts
  • C++ – 10+ years of experience, including system-level programming
  • SQL – Experience in database security and query optimization
  • JavaScript – Familiarity with web security and automation

Do you have a willingness to learn new things?
Absolutely. My cybersecurity background has been built on continuous learning. IT is evolving at an exponential rate. This said, I actively engage with new technologies, methodologies, and frameworks to stay ahead of emerging threats.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deep technical expertise in cybersecurity and automation
  • Experience in malware detection and remediation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; showcasing MRT-X in a positive light.
Weaknesses:

I can be highly detail-oriented, sometimes spending too much time analyzing issues before implementing a solution. However, I’ve been improving my efficiency in balancing thoroughness with timely execution.

What can you bring to the group?
  • Technical expertise in malware analysis, cybersecurity, cryptographic concepts, marketing and ethical hacking.
  • Automation capabilities to enhance malware detection and removal processes
  • A collaborative and mentorship mindset, ready to help train and assist new members
  • Practical experience with exploit mitigation and securing systems from threats

Why should you be accepted?

I have hands-on experience with malware analysis and security tools, and I am eager to contribute to the community while continuing to grow my expertise. I am committed to upholding ethical standards and would be a valuable asset to the team.

If accepted, will you participate in the Malware Removal Training Academy?
Yes, I am eager to enhance my malware removal skills through structured training.

Are you able to dedicate at least an hour a day to MRT-X?
Yes, I can commit to at least an hour daily to engage with MRT-X activities and training.

Tell us about yourself.
I am a cybersecurity professional with a strong background in ethical hacking, malware analysis, and automation. My academic background includes a degree in cybersecurity with a concentration in network security, and I am Security+, A+, N+ and CCNA certified.
