Love this! Throwng my application below:

• Why do you want to become part of MRT-X?:
I want to be a member of a team that supports eachother in their goals in improving their whitehat / blue team skills.
I have a great interest in that space and have been actively trying to move into that area professionally. I've been completing rooms and training on HTB and THM and am undertaking professional training in my current work place. I feel like this would be an excellent place to learn and share knowledge - I also love the requirement to focus an hour a day to it as it will also keep me focussed

• How active are you on HackForums?
I log in and view new posts and threads every day. I'll only post on a thread if I have something to valuable to add or if it particularly takes my interest - i really try to avoild littering the forum with LQ posts if I can.

• What sections on HackForums are you most active in?
I'm most active in the loungue, coders loungue, and spend a lot of my time lurking in the whitehat tutorials.

• Do you participate in any black hat activity past or present?
No, never.

• What interests you the most about MRT-X?
One of my key areas of interest in the blue-team spehere is reverse engineering, and computer forensics, and I think this would be a great group to hone these skills and talk to likeminded folks. I would also love the opportunity to help out fellow members of HF.

• What are your current skillsets?
full-stack development (C#, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, JS, ASP.NET, .NET CORE), database management (MSSQL, MYSQL), Windows Forms Development (VB), Mobile app development (Xamarin, MAUI).

I'm also developing my whitehat and ethical hacking skills through HTB and THM.

• What programming languages are you proficient in?
I'm profficient in C# and VB.NET and have been using them professionaly for 7+ years.

I can also read, Python, Java, JS, C, and C++ but writing in in them takes me a little time as I need to familairise myself with the syntax as I do it (I don't use them super often, only when needed).

• Do you have a willingness to learn new things?
Absolutely - that's the reason I'm on this forum.

• What are your strengths and weaknesses?
+programming
+ DB and SQL work
+ General Cyber Security and white hat principles - still learning the more advanced stuff
+ willingness to help and teach others

- memory management in memory insecure languages
- delegation of time to certain tasks (can sometimes get too involved in one task and neglect others if I don't keep an eye on it)
- Cloud (trying to learn)
- IoT (again trying to learn)

• What can you bring to the group?
As mentioned I'm a skilled programmer and can bring my knowledge of that to the group in develooping tools (nothing black-hat) and reverse engineering malware. I'm also super enthusiatic about learning and love to help others and pass on my knowledge. I also recently wrote my first guide for the forum and loved the process of it - I want to do a lot more of that in the future.

• Why should you be accepted?
because I will be a focussed and valuable member - I may not be the most knowledgable on the team, but I will give 100% to it and will use this opportunity to learn and give back to the community.

• If accepted, will you participate in the Malware Removal Training Academy?
Fuck yeah, sounds awesome.

• Are you able to dedicate at least an hour a day to MRT-X?
I'll absolutley make the time for this. During the week it will generally be at night as that's when I have the most free time - but I will make it happen.

• Tell us about yourself.
As I mentioned Im a software engineer in my professional life, and as you can guess, a security nerd in my spare time.
I'm also super into fantasy and science fiction, some of my favorite worlds being Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Warhammer 40K, and WoW.
I'm typically left learning politically, but I don't really give a shit about peoples politics in general, I'm not the kind of guy to preach my beliefs and belittle others for theirs. You do you, we can still be bros.
I'm a big gamer, both video and board games - so happy to chat about that anytime.
I'm super motivated to give everything I have to whatever I do - so I can come off as a bit of a suck up when learning new things from people- I just get over excited

Want to know anything else... just ask.

Why do you want to become part of MRT-X?

I've wanted to join the MRT of HackForums since it was first established here. It's been a long time goal of mine to be a part of this team and involve myself with other cybersecurity professionals who want to make the world a better place rather than torch it. In the past, I was inexperienced and didn't feel confident enough to try and become a member of the original MRT or HJT team. I didn't know enough to be able to contribute meaningfully but it's been a few years since then and I've established a level of expertise where I am able to contribute and learn from others in the group.

How active are you on HackForums?

I'm not going to bullshit you, I only merely lurk now and haven't been as active as I used to be. I used to be active, post tutorials, and be more involved in the hacking sections but I put that behind me as I lost interest in engaging with others and would mostly skim the hacking sections of the forums to see what was being discussed before leaving the site. I didn't have a reason to engage or be more involved but this group has my interest and I would have a reason to be more active. I understand it's a risk and it's no hard feelings if you want to avoid the risk entirely.

What sections on HackForums are you most active in?

I tend to pay attention to the hacking sections of the forums. I used to be involved in the gaming sector as well but majority of my focus is in the Black Hat, Grey Hat, and White Hat sections with their own respective sub-sections.

Do you participate in any black hat activity past or present?

No, I have no interest in Black Hat activity.

What interests you the most about MRT-X?

It's a group of actual white hats or people interested in becoming white hats. A large majority of people here tend to be mostly interested in the black or grey hat groups but I want to network with others who can consider themselves cyber professionals and improve things for the greater good instead of fuck things up chasing money. I want to be involved in that and contribute toward that goal.

What are your current skillsets?

Pen testing, red team, incident response, and I'm currently trying to learn reverse engineering. I've never been a software developer so it's a project I've been working toward to improve my own skillsets.

What programming languages are you proficient in?

Python - Working level
C++ - Average
Java - Average
Assembly - Beginner

Do you have a willingness to learn new things?

I love to learn new things. It's partly why I still remain somewhat active here. I always come back to see what is being developed, any new tools of the trade, and if there's any interesting guides available.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths:

- Strong foundation in offensive security and a decent understanding of defensive security.
- Cybersecurity enthusiast. I learn to love about the field and will spend most of my time just researching new information.
- Mentor. I like teaching those with a passion in cyber and explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences.

Weaknesses:

- Lack of engagement. I need to have something that interests me to keep my attention. If I don't have something actively challenging me to new levels, I will struggle to maintain concentration on that topic.

What can you bring to the group?

I'm more than willing to contribute to the MRT-X's goal of removing malware for users on HackForums. I want to engage more in that field and would be someone willing to take the lead, rather than sit by and occasionally assist. I have a core foundation in many topics as well, including Linux, which would mean I can be cross-trained into fields of interest in the future to help with issues surrounding malware removal from Linux systems. Lastly, I'm experienced with pen testing and red team trade-craft and TTP. Aside from the obvious offensive perspective I could provide, I can use this information for the benefit of the group so long as we remain White Hat focused.

Why should you be accepted?

I do genuinely want to contribute and be a part of MRT-X to help users. I don't care about the emblem, title, or the other benefits. I want to be involved in the training and applying that knowledge to help others that ask for it. I remember being very interested in The Brotherhood and the help they provided in the White Hat section. I would like to be involved in a group that mirrors that type of ethical behavior.

If accepted, will you participate in the Malware Removal Training Academy?

I would prefer to actually. That is one of the core interests I have in joining the group.

Are you able to dedicate at least an hour a day to MRT-X?

Yep, I tend to log on for about an hour or two daily to check-in on anything new so adding another hour shouldn't be too much of an issue.
