Anyone try this? If I take the battery out can I just nuke the whole thing using an extension cord in the backyard? It is the 4th of July, so no one will notice here in Florida.😆

A microwave isnt reliable to erase or destroy a hard drive. Putting a laptop in the microwave is just stupid and dangerous regardless of whether it's outside or not.

I honestly wouldn't trust it depending on the sensitivity of the data you're trying to destroy. If so I'd burn it and then bury it in a secluded area (just the HDD removed)

Drilling your hard drive may not be enough. The viros may have spread into your motherboard and cpu. You need to exercise your laptop.

Ok, I heard of the viruses that can get into the intel chips. I mean I could just take the hard drive and ram out + battery and throw it in the creek but it could hurt the wildlife and technically polluting city land. I was thinking just blow it up with a mortar since it's the forth of July, just feeling too old for this kind of activity to be fun again.😤

No, It is still running on this Laptop right now, I am also mining cpu coins on the same system. It's fun, It was a free laptop anyways, already fried it from AFK auto-clicker mob grinder farming on Minecraft. I forgot abo
