Smart contracts & you - Hackers - Oct 6, 2025 I am always surprised by how many people rely on services, exchanges, invoice platforms, and direct P2P for payments. It's not hard to create a smart contract, and depending on the network, not that expensive to deploy or interact with. Here are some basic concepts... - Receive funds - Maintain user balances in contract (optional) - Split funds, or allocate equity / % shares in received payments - Receive & send to another contract or address - Multi contract flows allow for infinite layers of equity % , or personal accounting (ex: withhold for tax, split to 2 addresses, share with spouse, etc) - Sell tokens, tickets, or single items - Address-based ownership or internal contract tokens, memberships, etc can be used for web portals, app access, etc (web3 wallet connections - SSO) There are so many use cases. Does anyone have any tips for people who haven't written or used a smart contract before? I recommend Remix if you haven't tried it, you can learn so much very quickly, for free. https://remix.ethereum.org/#lang=en https://remix-project.org/?lang=en RE: Smart contracts & you - SIM-4331310 - Oct 7, 2025 Will attempt soon..thanks for the info.... I recommend Remix + Ethereum to start because it's easy. Use OpenZeppelin for reference, or to use their sub-contracts for things like Owner & other security. RE: Smart contracts & you - SIM-4331310 - Oct 7, 2025 Did some arbitrage on bnb before..smart chain if I recall correctly..thanks for the recommendations.... Nice! Arbitrage, strategic swaps (harder these days w/ tx fees or cross-chain / exchange fees), and other financial methods are the perfect use cases for contracts. So many things can be done to be honest. For anyone that's unfamiliar with contracts.... Just think of it like a wallet that can trigger custom code/functions, receive funds, send funds, hold funds, etc. It's like if your personal wallet had smart logic built into it. That's all! It's not hard to get into if you're interested... RE: Smart contracts & you - SIM-4331310 - Oct 8, 2025 (Oct 8, 2025 07:58 PM)enki Wrote: Nice!
