Holidays can be a very depressive time for people who are already struggling, and yes I am speaking from experience. I remember the Decembers where I just couldn't wait for all of it to pass. If you've been through this, you know what I'm talking about - seeing everyone planning thoughtful Christmas gifts, family gatherings, all the holiday spirit in the air - and when you're going through a tough time, all of this can just add fuel to the fire.
Check up on your friends and family from whom you may have not heard this December, let them know they are not alone!

This is very true. The holidays can be extremely hard for people who are struggling. Thank you for sharing this and for reminding us to check on each other.

It's an awful feeling and people should be more considerate during these times and not try to push their holiday spirit on people who are struggling.
