Meme Cryptocurrencies What Do You Think About Them? - TheNaturalBoy - Jun 3, 2026 Well, guys, it's pretty clear that a large portion of the users on this forum are much more knowledgeable about this topic than I am. We often hear about legitimate investments and economic models that continue to evolve and adapt over time, but I was curious about your thoughts on meme cryptocurrencies. ![]() What was your reaction when meme coins first became popular? From what I understand, they experienced a huge boom for a while. It seems like many of them disappeared almost as quickly as they appeared, although some have managed to survive. Others seem to be created and abandoned within days. Did any of you ever lose money buying one? Do you know anyone who made a profit or suffered losses from them? What little I know comes mostly from a few conversations with Claude, and my impression is that many meme coins are essentially jokes turned into financial products—often relying more on hype, marketing, and speculation than on any underlying utility. In some cases, it seems that early buyers profit while late buyers end up holding the bag. ![]() That said, I'm curious about your experiences and opinions. Have any of you ever created a meme coin yourself? Invested in one? Made money, lost money, or simply watched the phenomenon from the sidelines? I'd love to hear what you think about this strange corner of the cryptocurrency world. RE: Meme Cryptocurrencies What Do You Think About Them? - Lefty - Jun 3, 2026 I don't understand how people still fall for them. How can a meme coin realistically bring in any money if it has not value? RE: Meme Cryptocurrencies What Do You Think About Them? - Edmond Dantes - Jun 4, 2026 I regret not holding my pepe and shib. RE: Meme Cryptocurrencies What Do You Think About Them? - RAT - Jun 4, 2026 meme szn is over and won't come back as it was (except maybe a few coins with the strongest communities and no retardmaxxing)... just invest in coins with actual value/utility ; I'm not even sure if alt-season as such will return and if it will it will be something else unlike the previous szns EDIT: i used to be in trenches a lot, trading these shitcoins ; there was a whole ecosystem and logic behind it; most of them obviously rugs RE: Meme Cryptocurrencies What Do You Think About Them? - Dipu4u - Jun 5, 2026 My trust on investing in altcoins have been given up. Back in the time people were investing huge in dogecoins but see the performance in last 1-2 years it is pretty bad. I rather used to invest in something which gives return with assurance. If we invest for a long time who knows the value of them will still remain the same or become more lower when we are expecting a solid return RE: Meme Cryptocurrencies What Do You Think About Them? - Noble - Jun 5, 2026 (Jun 3, 2026 11:23 PM)Lefty Wrote: I don't understand how people still fall for them. How can a meme coin realistically bring in any money if it has not value? Easy. Take your chances with many of them and hope one of them goes to the "Moon." That's the mentality in today's society. RE: Meme Cryptocurrencies What Do You Think About Them? - Omniscient - Jun 5, 2026 Never saw the value in them. Never bought into the hype. Seemed like gambling and scams to me. I prefer to look for technology over hype. |
