Do you collect physical media? - Pimping - Oct 19, 2026 I have always collected physical video games.. but recently i have started to collect blu-rays of my favorite movies/series and also looking into CDs/vinyl collecting. it seems like a lot of people are jumping on the physical media bandwagon this year so thought id ask What is your favorite piece of physical media you own? RE: Do you collect physical media? - Jinu - Oct 19, 2026 That’s a great choice. Vinyl does offer a unique experience that no digital format can replicate. Agreed and some of them have really cool colors and patterns I might buy one of the GTA 6 soundtrack vinyls as my first RE: Do you collect physical media? - sharn - Oct 21, 2026 I do not collect much physical media these days. Streaming services make it easier to enjoy music and movies without storing anything. RE: Do you collect physical media? - Deany - Oct 21, 2026 Yeah all my gunpla are my physical media :) RE: Do you collect physical media? - Pimping - Oct 21, 2026 (Oct 21, 2026 02:13 AM)sharn Wrote: I do not collect much physical media these days. I can agree with that usually i just buy my favorite movies though... that way i dont end up collecting a bunch of movies lol. I probably have like 10 blu rays total RE: Do you collect physical media? - Lefty - Oct 21, 2026 I have started doing this now, I cannot trust the way the scene has moved. I hope the gaming industry truly appreciates how far some people will go to preserve media. Yea for sure I am so disappointed GTA 6 wont be a physical copy... wouldve been the perfect game to have one for RE: Do you collect physical media? - Lefty - Oct 21, 2026 (Oct 21, 2026 07:20 PM)Pimping Wrote: Yea for sure All games should have a physical backup, but GTA for sure. These gaming companies have been 100% Anti Consumer for too long now, and now the out of touch sony rep saying discs are just hot feasible economical and "doesn't see the big deal" ... remember when they actually tried to think how the customers think and empathized with them to make them a customer, not just oh we do what we want and i dont really care if you don't understand.. It's insane, the customer is always right? That's gone.. now the customer can basically get stuffed either buy the slop or don't play.. I am lucky now but I remember being enraged if i bought a game and there was a 12gb patch for it. I didn't have fast internet, or money to buy data. Now I can't imagine how anyone in similar situations is able to cope.. The future being set up for the next generation is BLEAK. but as with everyone, leave it for a while and it will sort it self out. Sony wanted a digital only future.. Well guess thats what there getting.. A large part of the gaming community is fighting back and now PS5 O/s is being emulated 99% natively on PCs, and there is already a patch for there jailbreak patch, so GTA6 will be on computers way before it was supposed to be... God is a gamer it seems haha RE: Do you collect physical media? - DAL-SHA - Oct 22, 2026 Well , I don't collect physical anymore ! I archive them on TERRA-BYTES of external Hard-drives ! RE: Do you collect physical media? - Omniscient - Oct 22, 2026 I just bought a new music CD from Amazon for one of my favorite artists who released a new album (Tori Amos). When I buy physical, it's mine, and I feel I support the artist directly. Even though I can stream the music on Spotify (and I do), I still forked over $20 for the CD. I believe in physical ownership of property and not just some license to use it. Definitely agree man and its not only just gaming companies.. literally every product has completely went downhill starting in 2020 and only got worse RE: Do you collect physical media? - Edward Montana - Oct 22, 2026 Yes , music .. movies.. Wow I didn't expect that to be another thing we had in common as well as birth year. Love her so much. I have quite a high singing voice, so when I was younger used to be able to sing Kate Bush and Tori Amos songs quite well, but then one of my kids is sensitive to noise and on the spectrum and I've kind of lost my range because couldn't sing around him. |
