Help with "actual" DL speed of network/computer - Mask - Dec 5, 2010 Alright so I was wondering a bit about Download and upload speed. When I download I usually NEVER see over 300kpbs, though I have recently used some tools found here to up my speed and whatnot. Okay so I went and tried downloading from mega upload a trailer for testing the actual speed.... I only got MAX 300kbs and avg about 150-200... What the hell is up? Also note I am on wireless+another user is on but not downloading anything... If it says my download speed is ATLEAST 2MB/s why aren't I downloading it at this rate? * - BlazinBlunts - Dec 5, 2010 What are you on? Cable, DSL etc..? * - Mask - Dec 5, 2010 I am on DSL at the moment, and running of a Linksys Router and Wireless card. * - BlazinBlunts - Dec 5, 2010 Yea DSL very bad for downloading. I use cable and only get 800 kb/s - 1 mb * - Mask - Dec 5, 2010 But on speed test it says I get 2mb/s atleast for DL speed, what gives? * - -mothered- - Dec 6, 2010 The speed at which you download, does depend on where you're downloading from. Now try resetting your Modem/Router, even to factory settings If need be. This can make a difference at times. * - Mask - Dec 6, 2010 Alright, thanks mothered, I'll give that a try. * - -mothered- - Dec 6, 2010 (Dec 6, 2010 01:06 PM)Mask Wrote: Alright, thanks mothered, I'll give that a try. No prob's mate. Please advise of the outcome. Also, It may be worth your while to give your ISP a call, to make sure that everything Is okay on their end. |
