When I am mobile I have continually noticed that the socket doesn't work for me. I've had a couple members state they have the issue. This thread is to get feedback and discuss the issue.

Anyone else that has experienced the problem of Convo and Notify not working while mobile please chime-in.

Issue is that you'll see that you have notifications but when you click it, it's empty, not loading any data. With Convo you can see the listings of your Convo's but when you go into group convo or a private convo data doesn't load. That's the symptom. The cause, it's because of Cloudflare protections. Even though I have bypass for the socket it doesn't seem to work correctly. Cloudflare wants to give you a CAPTCHA but since it's a websocket you never see it, so it doesn't get solved, so the socket doesn't work for you. Happens to me at the oddest moments from normal IPs without a VPN.

I have for myself fixed this by installing Cloudflare Warp and enabling just the DNS part. Seems to work mostly but not all the time. So a change in IP or connection type is how you get past the Cloudflare Captcha attempt which then allows the socket to load. This is a shitty fix obviously and long-term not how I'll be dealing with it.

Unsure if recently this is happening to more and more members but I've noticed that we're getting less people in Convo. I'm wondering if this is possibly why.

What is the fix you may be asking yourself? Well right now our websocket is on a different port. When you connect to HF you're 443 (NGINX HTTPS) and 2096 (websocket). Nginx does do websocket proxy.

Unfortunately it requires upgrading our backend first. I can't yet implement the fix until we're moved to the new server. Attempting to upgrade our current server is more likely going to break things more than fix them. But overall it's good news there is a way to resolve the problem permanently. Once we proxy to the port from 443/80 then when you past Cloudflare Captcha on the site, it should also work for the socket. That's the theory anyways.

I'm sharing to keep you updated but I really want to know how many other members are experiencing socket issues. Surely can't just be a few of us. I think it's more widespread and people are likely just frustrated.

So when when i gave max pop to any members , it dont send pop as i sent

I send today for example my max 4 pop to scrub and he got 4 , when send 4 to dashphp it sent only 1 , when to another members they dont show increase in their pop

Is that normal ?

Just finished a nice feature on HF that's going to ruin the Bots that have been crawling HF content.

With the method I've created it shouldn't disrupt any normal activity or accounts. It's very specific towards the activity of crawling Bots.

Mostly mentioning this to members because in Convo I've talked about the bots often enough.

I've decided to alter the name of our B-Ratings system to Credibility. I consider it more appropriate and probably slightly less confusing for new members. Now on a profile you'll see Popularity and Credibility. I think these compliment each other perfectly. I've also changed the Booyah, Bleh and Boos to simply Excellent, Average, and Poor.

Not sure I got every page the old terms are on but if you find any LMK and I'll update it.
