Good app. but one suggestion. (I am sorry if this had already been made) What is the motivation for them? The time? I don't think IMO that a big motivating factor, so maybe add points and stuff if you complete the task on time or something. that you can redeem towards virtual things. That IMO would be pretty damn cool. Hehe
Just a friendly suggestion though.

Nice app. What language did you write it in? How long did it take you to make the app? How long did it take you to learn how to make apps? How long did it take for them to accept it?

Objective-C language applied to the MVC (Model-View-Controller) design pattern of mobile apps.
2 months (including learning/breaks,etc, should have taken shorter)
2 months learning time I guess. I'm still a beginner.
Took them 9 days but thats because they were kind of busy at the time. Average is 4 days.

You should add a paid version with more benefits, charge $.99, or just add ads to the free version to gain some revenue.
