There’s a Vast difference between a BlackHat hacker and a Serial Killer, obviously a Serial Killer is a far worse human being than for say a Carder or any particular blackHat hacker.

Not sure why you even compared the two

dont know what others think about themselfs but i not think about that in first place.
imagine this situation.
1. you have bank details where is $1k
2. you "collect" them
3. do you think its the owners fight ? no bank must refund him and deal with it. so they make documentation about this, send it to police etc, etc.
4.now you have 1k and owner have 1k

i think its a win-win situation

Most of the time what blackhats steal is refunded. It's basically borrowing money. PayPal is obviously one of the most common things used to commit fraud. Within days, sometimes hours, people are refunded. Same with credit cards.

I stole 40 BTC once and I felt guilty. Does it make me a bad person that I stole that? No. I'm a very moral person.

I'm a BH and I'd say I'm a better person than most people. I believe in God. I care how God sees me. Not all blackhat people are good though. Some are cunts and will do anything and don't care about how it effects people. I have blackmailed people in the past and made them look like paedophiles (although some were) but honestly I've done nothing truly evil to people where it will completely effect their life in a way they can't recover.

TLDR: I'm a good person and I like to steal on the internet. Not everyone is good. Not everyone is bad. Why are people hacking in the first place though? Probably because they have no other option and it's the best way for them to get money.

A true blackhat would never question themselves about being a bad/good person if they've never been caught. It's totally irrelevant since it's a lifestyle for most, especially if there's money on the table. That was the case for me before I got raided by Homeland Security 11 years ago. All computer-related equipment and funds were seized. After that, I started thinking about if I was a bad/good person...

This.

This thread is evident enough of the high level of narcissism that criminals present. Plenty of people in here bragging about theft, yet claiming that they are still a good person. They're blinded by their own narcissism and egotism, they are not good people, they're criminals. Just because they're not a shithead when they're not committing crimes does not mean that the crimes that they've committed are negated, forgiven, or forgotten. They are still a scumbag, and the sooner they recognize that the sooner they can grow up and act like a mature member of society, one that doesn't think that committing crimes is the right direction for their lives.

But what about people that scam others that are from the same socio-economic background and probably at a worse financial position (for example ebook sellers that sell dreams)? Is it possible to justify this somehow?

Everything is justifiable by someone. It's the reason why the Human Race will always be in chaos.

If you hit cards or banks u don't even need to feel remorse. Fuck the banks.

I personally think a lot of BH have a rebellious nature (i.e. against gov, corps, etc). As soon as they grow up/mature, they realise it's probably not the best thing to be doing.

If they're not caught before then haha.

I sincerely don't believe anyone caught up in blackhat activities views themselves as being "good" people, otherwise if they do, they're suffering from a pretty massive delusion.
Okay, maybe in a few select cases it could be considered an honorable action, such as gaining intelligent necessary to unveil someone in powers evil intentions or by gaining access the stashed away funds that were stolen from people to then be returned to them. Like a Robin Hood-y situation.

I personally know that things I did in my past weren't alright, but I was young and curious. Still doesn't change the fact it was malicious though.

But differing users will have their own opinions, so you really need to decide for yourself what it is you believe.

Most criminals aren't as clear minded as you give them the benefit of the doubt of. Most are narcissistic delusional, and will go to great lengths to rationalize themselves as a good guy, despite them clearly being wrong. This thread is a perfect example of just that, numerous scumbags writing "well while I do steal, extort, stalk, and harass, I still consider myself to be a good person, just ask my dog..."

some people who do illegal things have moral standards however still different from the average joe

Like for instance, were i to buy cc info where you know the owner is this huge business man who has millions. I would choose that , if i knew it was some middle class person i would not use it. (also you got visa insurance etc)

Same goes for counterfeit money if I were to try to buy something with it i would go to a huge chain or festival trying to buy something there instead of at my local supermarket or a small restaurant etc.

This just plays into delusional narcissism.

You're rationalizing the wrong that you do by who you do wrong to and by how badly it affects them. This doesn't make you a good person, nor does this show any sign of a strong moral compass, it just shows that you know that you're doing wrong and in order for YOU to sleep soundly at night, you try to do what you can to rationalize it. You're trying to state that you're taking the moral high ground by only stealing from those who can afford it, yet the moral high ground would be to not steal at all. I get the rationality that you're trying to make, and sure, it makes what you're doing less heinous, but it still doesn't make it right in any sense of the word.

You're still a bad person.

Fair enough. I admit to being a little too kind when discussing them. Honestly, I did some very unethical and illegal things before many, many years ago out of pure curiosity. Never about monetization or buying some expensive whatnot. But I immediately stopped once I saw I had gone too far.

These people legitimately live in a massive delusion, one where they think they're superior to others, thus untraceable/undetectable. No pity though, only some delight when the law catches up to them.

RE: Do blackhats feel like they are good people? - DNA - Jul 19, 2019

Just going by 99% of them I have met, they are so self-centred that they believe whatever they want to believe.
Generally these are the traits of a narcissist and a majority of blackhats I believe are full-blown narcissistic selfish impatient egotistical twats, feel free to dispute this, these are my two cents.

I have always been given the impression that anyone who is blackhat is not worth the time of day, as their actions will always be motivated by ill intentions.

This has always been a bothersome topic, the ethical and the unethical, the morally just and the immoral, it is like Good and Evil, whilst you believe their actions are unjustifiable, they believe their actions are justified.
