Linux SSH Unzipping Issue - Effexion - Jul 19, 2016 Command: http://prnt.sc/buxh17 Return: http://prntscr.com/buxisg The zip DEFINITELY exists in that directory. * - Figma - Jul 19, 2016 CD into that directory and try again. * - Effexion - Jul 19, 2016 (Jul 19, 2016 12:23 PM)Jack Wrote: CD into that directory and try again. Still no joy there, man! This has me stumped. TY anyway. * - Ilumini - Jul 19, 2016 This is an indication of one of two things. 1. The zip is corrupt. Try re-uploading it to your server and unzipping. If that doesn't work, it's most likely going to be the compression method you're using on the zip itself, so trying a different compression method may help as well. 2. The zip is part of a multi-part archive structure. Meaning it's part X out of how many ever total zip parts. I doubt it, but doesn't hurt to point it out anyway. If this is the case, you'll need all parts of the zip structure and usually have to unzip the first part only to unzip all of them properly. Let me know if this works for you. * - SuckySucky - Jul 19, 2016 what happens if you just run the unzip command plain. thus; unzip file.zip without any additional parameters. * - Ilumini - Jul 19, 2016 (Jul 19, 2016 12:45 PM)SuckySucky Wrote: what happens if you just run the unzip command plain. Really shouldn't matter. The only parameter he's passing is -d, which is for specifying a different target directory for the unzipped files and folders. The error message in his second screenshot is what clues the issue. * - Effexion - Jul 19, 2016 I think it's a Filezilla issue on closer inspection. The folder isn't transferring fully leading to corruption when it's on my server. Hmmph 😟. * - Ilumini - Jul 19, 2016 (Jul 19, 2016 01:10 PM)Effexion Wrote: I think it's a Filezilla issue on closer inspection. Worth trying CyberDuck instead? * - Ilumini - Jul 19, 2016 (Jul 19, 2016 01:16 PM)Effexion Wrote: It's FTP. man. Worth trying CyberDuck instead? I use CyberDuck myself and like it a lot. But seeing as you have CLI access, try uploading the zip via SFTP instead to a folder that you have permissions to write to. I know it sounds weird, but humor me anyway. There's other alternatives too. If the .zip your uploading is located on another linux server, you could use SCP or rsync to remotely send it over SSH as well. * - xab23 - Jul 20, 2016 Follow this: cd /dir1/dircontainingzip/ unzip -x zipfile.zip Should work 100% * - redlightrouter - Jul 23, 2016 You can do it the long way around if you want. Assuming you're on a Windows machine: - Download Winscp - self explanatory ( Fill in IP, port, user, password) - Drag it to your Windows machine - Unzip - Return it to your server |
