Windows 10 says headphones are not plugged in - LowBeams - Jan 13, 2017 The headphone jacks in the rear of my computer work, but not the ones in the front. It tells me nothing is plugged in. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling driver, running windows trouble shooter. Tons of googling and nothing seems to be working. The driver is showing High Definition Audio device for the front. Any ideas? Thanks! * - Aveling - Jan 13, 2017 Did the headphone jack work at one point or have they never worked properly for you? If they did work before, what possibly could you have changed that might have caused the it? * - LowBeams - Jan 13, 2017 (Jan 13, 2017 03:22 PM)Yani Wrote: How many drivers are listed? There can be a single "High Definition Audio device" for multiple inputs. I just bought this build, I can't confirm that they have ever worked as I didn't try them until I had windows 10 installed upon receiving the PC. Everything else on the computer works great so I would assume they do, just not the right drivers. The back output still works as well (Both of the rear inputs, 4 total). Just the front ones do not, however the USB drives right next to them do work. It's specifically the headphone jack. * - zhyreox - Jan 13, 2017 Try another pair of headphones. * - LowBeams - Jan 13, 2017 (Jan 13, 2017 03:28 PM)zhyreox Wrote: Try another pair of headphones. Will do that now and see. Trying turtle beaches currently. Tried skull candy and apple ones, same results. * - █─█ █▄█ █▀▄▀█ - Jan 13, 2017 Well you know the answer to your problem right? Windows 10 sucks ass, go back to Windows 7 :) * - LowBeams - Jan 13, 2017 (Jan 13, 2017 04:39 PM)Yani Wrote: Could you check if plugging something in the front mutes the output at the backside? It does not, I'm going to pull the case apart tomorrow and see if it's actually plugged in. * - LowBeams - Jan 13, 2017 (Jan 13, 2017 05:12 PM)Yani Wrote: That's what I'm guessing. If the backside works then plugging something in the front instantly mutes it. The backside doesn't mute when I plug something into it, however thats a good wiring technique. Going out tonight, so I'll dig into it tomorrow and post back! Thanks for the help yani! * - LowBeams - Jan 19, 2017 Took the PC apart today, sure enough the plug wasn't connected, plugged it in and the audio is fine now. Quite a few things that aren't plugged in on here which was weird! |
