At $262 per share, the company gained nearly $350 million in proceeds and "issued convertible notes worth $850 million". The deal is expected to help pave the way for the acclaimed 'Model 3 electric vehicle' which the company has said will hit production in July of this year. The expected production rate of the vehicle is over 5,000 per week eventually rising to over 10,000 per week. Estimated MSRP will be less than $30,000 after tax. Elon has recently gone on Twitter, shedding more light on the new Tesla production saying it will be a more affordable version of the Model S, but when asked if it will still be awesome, Musk's simple reply was, "definitely". >>Source Brain + AI = Future? CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, has launched a radical new research company called Neuralink which is based out of California. Popularly known as neural lacing, the goal is to allow the brain to connect remotely to an interface where you would be able to not only navigate but transfer information to and from the cyber network. Advances have already been made in similar technology such as paralyzed patients receiving implants that not only allow them to control robotic arms but also restore their own limb movement. However, actual widespread development of this technology is still far from completion and with new technology also poses new dangers such as intrusive surgeries and possible security threats. >>Source ![]() Canada to Legalize Weed in 2018 The liberal government of Canada is planning to announce legislation next month that will legalize weed in the country by July 1, 2018. The former Toronto police chief, Bill Blair, briefed the liberal caucus last weekend on how the roll-out would be handled. The federal government will be in charge of making sure the marijuana supply is safe and secure. The federal government will also be the entity that grants licenses to distributors. The minimum age to buy marijuana will be set at 18, but the provinces can make that higher if they prefer. Each province will also have the right to decide the pricing of marijuana, how it is distributed, and how it is sold. Lastly, each household will be limited to a maximum of four marijuana plants. >>Source Nationwide Protests Take Place in Russia Over Corruption Hundreds of protestors were arrested on Sunday for marching against the Russian government’s alleged corruption. The protest was the biggest show of defiance since a 2011-2012 wave of demonstrations. Mostly all of the rallies were unsanctioned by the government, but people took to the streets despite the fear of being arrested. An organization that monitors Russian political repression said that more than 800 people were arrested. In contrast, the state-news agency Tass said there were 500 arrests. The protests took place after a report from an anti-corruption organization stated that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev had amassed a collection of mansions, yachts, and vineyards. The leader of the protests, Alexei Navalny, intends to run for president in 2018 where he will likely face Putin. >>Source Elon Musk Launches Venture to Merge the Human Brain with AI The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, is launching a new brain-computer interface venture called Neuralink. The company is hoping to create devices that can be implanted into the human brain for neural enhancement. In specific, the hope is that the devices will be able to improve human memory and allow for direct interfacing with computing devices. As of now, these brain implants only exist in science fiction. There are some medical brain implants to help mitigate the effect of neurodegenerative diseases, but the total number of people that have those implants is in the tens of thousands. The medical issue with operating on the brain is that it is extremely dangerous and invasive. Those that choose to operate on the human brain only do so as a last resort. Despite that many people are uncomfortable with the idea of having their skull opened, Musk and other tech industry futurists in Silicon Valley are pursuing technology that could be used to enhance the brain. >>Source ![]() Galaxy S8 and S8+ Announced Are you tired of the same old phone you've had for two years now? Can't stand having ancient features on the iPhone 7? It's time for a brand-new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S8! Let's skip the details, you can read articles if you want more in-depth information. The new flagship of Samsung will come in two models, S8 and S8+. Both are curved and have the same resolution (QHD+). S8+ differs with its screen size of 6.2 inches and has a larger battery cell of 3,500 mAh unlike the S8's 3,000 mAh cell. Features - we need to discuss the new tech. Stream music to two headphones at the same, damn, time. Well, bluetooth headphones that is but still a cool feature that may be useful in some scenarios. Since we're talking audio, both models come with $100 AKG Earbuds for free. The Galaxy S8/+ are waterproof and dustproof like the S7. If you need a computer, buy the DeX dock to turn your phone into a desktop. When you are busy eating burgers and touching your phone with dirty fingers, your phone will tell you to clean its camera lens. We've seen Siri and Google Assistant come to phones but Samsung has its own AI now, Bixby. Bixby is designed to help in areas other AI are not able to. Take a picture of a Wine bottle and Bixby will tell you some info about it. Control your smart home devices like your TV or lighting with Bixby. Oh, and they've added a dedicated Bixby button on the side for quick access. Click, Talk, Done! We're coming to an end but two things before I'm done doing free marketing. One: Galaxy S8/+ will be the first smartphone with Bluetooth 5.0. Why does that matter? Well, Bluetooth 5.0 has double the speed and 4x the range (800 feet). You can also push audio to two bluetooth devices at once with Bluetooth 5.0. Two: Pre-orders begin tomorrow, March 30th. Pre-ordering the Galaxy S8/+ will get you a free Gear VR with a controller as well. It comes in Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Orchid Gray, Maple Gold*, and Coral Blue*. *Available Internationally Announcement in 10 minutes, watch this. >>Source Tesla's New Software Update Improves Autosteer in New Cars When the new Model S and Model X vehicles launched, they came with advanced hardware like 8 cameras for 360-degree view and 12 ultrasonic sensors however lacked in its software. Today, Tesla released Software 8.1 to improve the software for the new models. Autosteer can now drive up to 80 MPH up from 55 MPH. The software also adds support for lane departure warning which alerts the driver when the car is moving out of its lane without a turn signal and auto lane change which will switch lanes automatically simply by having the driver clicking their turn signal left or right. The software still is missing a few more features like automatic emergency braking but the coolest feature it came with today is its summon feature. Summon your car using a key or mobile app and your car will "pull in and out of parking spaces". >>Source ![]() World of Warcraft Raising Prices in the UK The popular MMORPG played all around the world, World of Warcraft has decided to raise their account service prices. The services included in this are:
Rumor: Call of Duty returning to World War II If the series of images leaked by the user "TheFamilyVideoGamers" on YouTube is true, then we should be excited to know that the next Call of Duty game that is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, will be taking place during World War 2. There is no confirmation from anyone on the Activision team saying that these are real. Of course, that makes sense considering that no information has been released from them just yet. Labeled as being a "marketing scheme", the images have the text "Call of Duty WWII" written all over it which definitely fits the "boots on the ground" theme that Activision proudly stated they would be bringing back. Not much else is known about these rumors. If you would like to see these pictures and read more about it, please do so at the reputable Call of Duty information website, Charlie Intel, here. >>Source Pokémon Go's Latest Event Is this game still alive? All jokes aside, for those who still have an interest in the game or are looking for a reason to get back into it, this might be some juicy news for you. The introduction of shiny Pokémon is happening now as we speak in Pokémon Go! A special even that is being run by the developers over at Niantic is trying to show some love for the water=type Pokémon. For those who have played the video games, you might know that little ole Magikarp is a meme. Well, that is not always the case when you get him to level 20 and evolve him to Gyarados. In celebration of this "Water Festival Event", Niantic say that finding water Pokémon should be a lot easier than it was before and that you should test your luck. Why? You might just get a shiny Magikarp! What differentiates a shiny Pokémon in the Pokémon video games is usually a sparkle/shine and a different color variant of some sort. Niantic will be leaving out the awesome sparkle, sadly, but will be keeping the change of color that comes with the shiny. As of now the only shiny Pokémon in the mobile game is a shiny Magikarp and Gyarados. You can tell the two apart because the shiny Magikarp is yellowish, gold as opposed to its original color red. For the Gyarados, instead of blue it is now red! One thing you should note is that shiny Pokémon is slightly more rare than its original counterpart. So good luck to you PokéTrainers! (Pictures of the Pokémon shiny can be seen here) >>Source Gaming Video of the WeekSpoiler (Click to View)
