Need some time to make it as straightforward as possible. Thinking of a onboarding system for new recruits. Sections Interviews and Podcast are under construction indefinitely until I figure out the best way to bring them back. There's a lot of room to improve with interviews and haven't found a good team with good voice, activity and organization yet for Podcast. Also, you may have noticed we got 2 new sections: Anime (eww but forced) and Wiki Talk. Expect a few more sections within the month. Test is Able to Discover Alzheimer's Proteins Scientists located in Japan and Australia have developed a potentially revolutionary test. They can now test for proteins that have previously been associated with Alzheimer's disease with up to a 90% accuracy. Being able to test for these proteins associated with loss of memory function will do wonders in the early detection of dementia. While both teams are certain that the testing process is still in the early stages, they can agree that the future certainly looks bright. This sentiment is echoed by Dr. Abdul Hye who said: "This study has major implications as it is the first time a group has shown a strong association of blood plasma amyloid with brain and cerebrospinal fluid." >>Source Cancer Cured in two Mice Were you to click the source link, you would see a jovial looking Ronald Levy. paired with a more somber Sagiv-Barfi. He has good reason to be wearing that expression too, the team's injection just eradicated all traces of cancer from two mice. The injection is composed of two active agents; CpG oligonucleotide and an antibody that is able to bind to OX40. In even better news, one of those active agents is already approved for use on humans. The team is already taking volunteers for an upcoming clinical trial. They believe this could drastically lower the cost of cancer treatment as well as break down another barrier in the search for a cure. >>Source Nasal Spray to Possibly Replace Opioids If you are anything like me, you are not a fan of anything to do with nasal sprays. However, I am willing to make an exception in the case of making heavily addictive opioids less common. A team of scientists at University College London was able to reduce pain in a variety of animals by using an all-natural opioid nasal spray. In even better news, the test subjects showed no signs of building a tolerance to the opioid used in the spray. The main benefit of users not building a tolerance was best described by Ijeoma Uchegbu, a professor of pharmaceutical nanoscience, who said “If people don’t develop tolerance, you don’t have them always having to up the dose. And if they don’t have to up the dose, they won’t get closer and closer to overdose.” The team is now working towards raising funding to begin a clinical trial. >>Source Larry Nassar to Serve 60 Years in Federal Prison Larry Nassar, a defamed sports physician who treated USA’s Women’s Gymnastics, was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison, with a vast majority of them being spent in a federal institution. Nassar has allegedly sexually abused over 150 women across the span of two decades. Larry stood in front of a trial and Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, where she ended the hearing with the final statement, “I’ve just signed your death warrant.” Nassar pleaded guilty and admitted that he used his “podium” to take advantage of, and assault young women while hiding it under the excuse of medical treatment. On January 24, 2018, he provided a short statement apologizing for the monstrous acts and pain that he brought upon these women and their families. Over 150 victims spoke in court, stating the terrible experiences endured by Nassar. The trial has come to a closing, and he is to serve 60 years. >>Source >>Source President Trump’s State of the Union Trump executed and hosted his very first State of the Union address Tuesday, earlier this week. Repetitively recognized throughout his speech is the push for Congress and the People to unify amongst one another on policies such as infrastructure and immigration. President Donald Trump only focused on a handful of topics. Those of which being: “immigration, trade, infrastructure, national security and tax reform.” Trump’s speech was the third-longest State of the Union in history, only being beaten by then-President Bill Clinton in 2000 and 1995. Though Trump pushed for unity between the Democrats and Republican, an underlying factor that he snuck in, was that of validating his first year of presidentship. A notable quote to take away from President Trump’s speech is regarding a vow that he took on immigration, “’My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans because Americans are dreamers too. Struggling communities, especially immigrant communities, will also be helped by immigration policies that focus on the best interests of American workers and American families.’" >>Source >>Source Russia Memo Released It’s almost like the word “Russia” can’t stay out of our mouths or not be typed for more than a day, if that. Now in news, House Republicans released a secret memo on February 2, 2018, accusing Russia investigators of bias. The memorandum included information that proves the Justice Department, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), abused their power and right of surveillance by spying on one of President Trump’s former campaign advisers. A political hurricane has arisen from the release of this information, where it also criticizes the tactics used by law enforcement. Ironically enough, one “bullet point” being criticized is the information that was used in the sanctioning of this warrant. It is ironic because Trump very well likes to point out when something is “fake news,” and in this instance, this attributed to the falsification and misguided approval from the high-ranking F.B.I. and Justice Department officials. It’s very likely that, within the coming months, we could see the Trump-chosen F.B.I. Director Christopher Wray hand in his letter of resignation. >>Source ![]() Apple removes Telegram from its App Store for hosting "inappropriate content" Apple recently removed Telegram from its iOS App Store for violating its application policies, especially related to the act of having any sorts of "inappropriate content" shown towards its users. This action also saw the immediate removal of Telegram X, a relaunch of the Telegram application for both iOS and Android ecosystems. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov was aware of this notice, as he gave a statement on Twitter: "We were alerted by Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users and both apps were taken off the App Store. Once we have protections in place we expect the apps to be back on the App Store." News sources have neither made clear of the inappropriate content that was found on Telegram nor when the application will make a return to Apple's iOS App Store. A report by TechCrunch mentions that Apple’s iOS policies make it clear there must be filters for objectionable material, mechanisms to report it, and the ability to block users from the service. Based on this policy, several educated guesses were made towards deducing the reason behind the removal of the popular cloud-based instant messaging service, with the most popular one being several inappropriate contents that might have passed through Telegram's existing filters and protections. >>Source 1 >>Source 2 Samsung makes a debut in the cryptocurrency chip business In a recent report published by Samsung Electronics, it has revealed that chips designed specifically to mine cryptocurrencies will soon be mass-produced by its subsidiary departments. Although this was announced with great fanfare, Samsung did not release more information about this new venture in relation to its benefits, specifications and so on. From an analytical point of view, this means that Samsung is investing into ASIC chips as a more viable alternative compared to GPU cards. This can allude to Samsung being regarded as the world's largest chipmaker in 2017, beating Intel by a favorable margin as shown in the South Korean multinational conglomerate's earnings reports for the fiscal year of 2017. This advantage gives Samsung a head start in developing customized chips for specific purposes, comparing to GPU cards that have had a meteoric rise in price recently due to a shortage in GPU card production caused by the cryptocurrency mining boom. According to another news report, Samsung has reportedly completed the development of its own ASIC chip for cryptocurrency mining last year and has already begun mass production in January. >>Source New Windows patch disables Intel's Spectre patch Microsoft has recently released a patch for its Windows operating system that disables the hardware-based mitigation patch Intel released for the Spectre exploit found in its processors, due to its poor development and implementation that caused certain computers to reboot at random events. This was confirmed to be the case for Haswell, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Skylake and Kaby Lake chips. The Windows update modifies the operating system so that it won't be used even though it has been implemented in the system. Microsoft has also documented certain registry keys that allow selective enabling/disabling of the patch for specific systems or hardware that get a huge performance impact from the microcode patch released by Intel. This helps to alleviate the system instability issues as noted by Microsoft. For now, these updates are offered as an out-of-band update which has to be manually downloaded and installed, due to it having only a single purpose: to disable the particular usage of the Spectre patch released by Intel. >>Source ![]() Counter-Strike Co-Creator Reportedly Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Suspended by Valve Would you continue playing a game if you knew a co-creator had a fantasy of being with young children? Jess Cliffe who is the co-creator of Counter-Strike was recently arrested in Seattle, Washington for reportedly sexual exploiting a child. The Valve Corporation has taken action by suspending Jess. The whole incident of Jess' arrest occurred Thursday, Feb. 1, where he was taken into custody, however, was not charged for anything yet. A few sources have made it confusing on whether or not Jess was allowed or denied bail. Because of this, this information is unknown as of yet. In regards to the child that has been a victim, in this case, there is not much known and police are doing their best to keep the child's information hidden, as well as ignoring any questions on whether or not the child is fine or has been harmed. One source says that the situation that Jess is currently in could be due a possibility that Jess was involved in the making of child porn. There is no record of past criminal activity, but in 2013, Jess pleaded not guilty to assault charges. Later that year, Jess' charges were dismissed and no action was taken. >>Source Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date Confirmed The well-awaited news on when the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally been announced. Unfortunately, there is still no word on a release for the PC. Good news for those who own an Xbox and PS4, because the sequel of definitely one of the most popular western styled action-adventure game will be coming to stores near you Oct. 26. Originally the game was thought to be released this spring, however, that is not the case and Rockstar has apologized for the delay. Bringing this game to the PC would make many gamers happy. With the release of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V for the PC, it for sure was a major success so there is no doubt that there might be that small possibility that PC gamers will get the chance to have a version of Red Dead Redemption 2. It would be a huge teaser if Rockstar Games keeps the announcement of the PC version a secret until before the release of the console versions of the games. >>Source Yakuza 6 Release Date Delayed, Demo on the Way Those familiar with the "beat-em-up" style game will sadly have to wait even longer for the game to release. Seems a lot of games this year have been put on delay, no? In a few weeks, as a sorry for the delay in the release of Yakuza 6, a demo will be available for PS4 players. Originally planned to be released in March, it looks like you will have to wait even longer to get your hands on a copy of the game. Now set to be released in April, you will have to wait an extra month to get your game. The original version of the game was released in Japan back in December of 2016, but due to the translations and much more work that needs to be done to bring the game to western countries, a delay has come about. This is no surprise though because a lot of games that are originally released in Japan first take some time to be westernized and sent to countries like the United Kingdom and the United States. For example, Yakuza 5 took almost three years to release internationally. >>Source Video Game Companies Making Hundreds of Millions from ‘Gambling-Like’ Loot Box Should games have "pay-to-win" options in video games? Do you believe that a game company should charge the players of the game to purchase character customization items with real money or in-game currency? It is no joke when looking at the amount of money that companies make because of this specific implementation within the game. Catering to the younger generation who will easily take their parents credit card because they see something cute within the game that is only obtainable by purchase. Not only this being the case, but some children buy purchases within games without their parents knowing and the kid themselves not knowing they are spending real money. This is not only an issue with kids but teenagers and adults are having the problem with loot-boxes and not being able to stop it. If you look around online and ask, some people may admit they have this problem of gambling for skins. Whether it be for customization of a character, look for a gun, or an item drop that boosts in-game things. Games like Star Wars Battlefront 2 was turned into a joke due to EA and their loot-boxes. In Fifa 18, you can purchase loot crate boxes and unlock random prizes. Just alone from loot box purchases, EA has made " $800 million (£560 million)" this year. Yep, that alone from purchases within the game. Do you think in-game money should be earned from playing, the used to unlock these purchases, or do you believe gaming companies should continue allowing their players to use real currency to purchase these items? >>Source New Pokemon Available in Ultra Sun and Moon For years, Pokemon has been giving away free Pokemon to fans through the use of special events. In the original version of the Sun and Moon games, Nintendo would give away Pokemon, mega stones, and much more. Well, once again, Nintendo is continuing the tradition of giving away event exclusive Pokemon to the fans but in Ultra Sun and Moon. Nintendo has titled this special little event "Year of the Pokemon". This is a great time for Pokemon fans because Nintendo will be giving away a free legendary Pokemon each month of 2018. If you do not own Ultra Sun or Moon, do not worry as the codes will also be eligible for redemption on the original versions of the Sun an Moon games. In order to get your legendary Pokemon code, you must go to your local Gamestop during each time-frame of the event that month. For example, since this month is Feb., you must go starting from the beginning of the month of Feb. to Feb. 28 to get the legendaries being offered this month. It may vary on the month, however, the process of obtaining a code will always be the same. If you get a code between the months of Feb.-May, but do not use it right away, no worries. The code will expire May 23. Make sure not to miss out! For this month, you can add Palkia and Dialga to your team! Both Pokemon come packed with special moves (which will be down below). One thing, though, you must take into account. Whether you have one game or both will determine how many codes you want to ask for. If you have both Ultra Sun and Moon, then it would be best to ask for two codes as depending on the game you have (Ultra Sun or Moon), you will either get Palkia or Dialga. If you own Ultra Sun/Sun, you will receive Palkia. As for Ultra Moon/Moon players, you will get Dialga as your legendary this month. In addition, you can also unlock Magearna and Celebi (Celebi can be unlocked until Sep. 21). To get Magearna is very simple, you will need to use your QR scanner to unlock her. The image for the QR can be found here! For Celebi, you must purchase Pokemon Gold or Silver from the Nintendo eShop. Upon doing so, will unlock a code that will unlock Celebi on Sun/Moon, or Ultra Sun/Moon. Lastly, the legendary Pokemon this month are equipped with these movesets! Palkia:

![]() Sword Art Online is an anime that has good and bad reviews. You have anime fans who deeply hate the anime, while there are others who absolutely love it and are die-hard fans. Given the title, "Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online", the spin-off will air starting in April. Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online will be based off the light novel that Sigsawa Keiichi has written. Enjoyed the second season of Sword Art Online? If you said yes to the previous question then you should buckle up and prepare for the ride! The story takes place during the Phantom Bullet arc. The main character of the game was described as an introvert who is not the best when it comes to dealing with people in the real world. Her name is Karen Kohiruimaki and she spends her time playing video games all day because of her inability to interact with people. During her time in Gun Gale Online, she meets someone who introduces her into a game mode that you may not have thought would have made it to the anime world. Battle royal based games have been becoming more and more popular and are currently on the rise. What if there was an anime version of that? The Sword Art Online series introduces us to the brand new game mode, "Squad Jam". Not much is known about it yet other than the fact that it is a battle royal game mode. You can see two teaser pics by clicking this link. >>Source "BanG Dream!" Smartphone Game Goes Global Some Japanese games are Japan exclusive. For those in other countries outside of Japan, this might be frustrating. Because of these restrictions, people will go through the effort of making a Japanese account to just download that specific game. However, this will not be the case for Bang Dream's mobile game "BanG Dream! Girls Band Party"! Coming this spring, fans who enjoy rhythm click games will have the chance to jam out with the Poppin' Party girls! At the current moment, the game is being translated into English. In the current state of the Japanese version, there are 60 songs that you are able to play. There are a huge amount of popular rhythm games that are popular right now. Love Live's School Idol Festival and Idolm@sters Stella Stage are just two examples. When performing a song, you are faced with a screen that looks like a guitar. If you have ever played Guitar Hero, it is a similar interface. Depending on the difficulty you play on, expert being the hardest, you will test the ability to hit all of the correct notes that are playing on your screen. You tap your phone or tablet in a sequence as seen on the screen. Whether it be holding down a button, tapping it once, or even having to press two buttons at the same time. For a while, the anime service received a lot of negative feedback mostly due to the pricing of the service. In order to even use the service you needed to have prime, of course, but in addition to that, you needed to spend an extra fee to even unlock the Strike service. If you are spending so much money on Prime ($99 for non-student Prime membership) why would you want to pay an extra fee? The service lasted only a year and it is not a surprise the lifespan was so short. Other services allow you to watch streamable anime in outstanding quality for a fraction of the price. Services like Crunchyroll and Hulu allowed you to pay a small fee of $4.99 as opposed to the $99 yearly fee plus an additional $60 for the Strike service. Yeah, you can definitely come to a conclusion as to why the service failed. Some of the exclusive anime that were purchasable for a few extra dollars are now accessible for free. Basically, in short, Amazon Strike was just combined with Prime Video and the anime videos are now free for all who have an Amazon Prime membership. >>Source RE: Hack Forums News // Edition 377 - Hydra - Feb 5, 2018 Important Threads: Recently Created Pages:
