[Traceable]

I was working on a little app that I was going to release, but I ran into some last minute problems.
The Icon will show up fine in any folder, but not on my desktop.
Steps I took

• Set the Icon (In the application tab of the properties)
  
• Set the Icon of the Form

It's your cache. You need to restart explorer, or change your icon sizes. The icon is changed, you just don't see it yet.

This. I also have this issue from time to time and pressing F5 when on the desktop can solve the problem.
