Windows System programming

Is this book obsolete or can it still apply to today's Windows 8 and 10?

Windows System Programming, Paperback (4th Edition) (Addison-Wesley Microsoft Technology)
"Design must be simple. Elegant. Implementation, less so. Sequences must change. Intent static, product fluid. Always can improve. Stressers reveal flaws. Flaws reveal potential. Always improving. Good."
I would say you can still use it, just be on the lookout for deprecated functions. Most of it should still be fine, but realize it's obviously not going to teach you how to write modern code or things like those Windows 8+ app things.

You mean like using .NET or C# stuff?

It can involve those, but it's not exclusive. https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/windo...24285.aspx

This is more on par with what I'm talking about, but it should be obvious that book won't cover things like this.
