I'm going to get rid of this theme and try to rebuild the previous Modern Blue. We're not going to have a responsive or mobile compliant website either. I'm considering this upgrade an epic fail. Upgrading navigation has been an issue and different designs I've tried either aren't working on all platforms or just aren't well received by members.
So I'm going to rebuild Modern Blue theme and I will also bring back the tabs. This may take me a week or two and I still have a large list of items to fix on the backend and with the theme.
Sorry guys that you didn't like what I was trying to accomplish and that it's caused members to have sore eyeballs. I suppose you can blame me directly for this going so poorly. I hope you can forgive me and that in a couple weeks the theme will be as normal as possible and you can be happy again. I'll put in the work necessary to accomplish this for you all.
