NFTs - ETH "Low gas contract" / "0-gas whitelist"

Hey guys, we all know ETH gas fees are insanely high and are a make-or-break deal for NFT minters.. but recently I discovered an NFT project called: FishyFam
https://fishyfam.io/
Their project focuses on a community-driven project to clean up the ocean.
Note: I am not associated with this project

Apparently their developer has "invented" a low-gas contract. Now please keep in mind, I'm a complete noob and have no idea how most of this stuff works but it seemed interesting because I couldn't find anything else about it.

Their contract on etherscan: https://etherscan.io/address/0x63fa29fec...7c8af#code

Now whatever a paymentsplitter and "Blimpie-FF721" is, apparently it provides "low-gas mints + transfers".

If anyone has any idea how this kind of stuff works, it'd be great to hear an explanation! Thanks.
Payment Splitter is just for paying out of the contract wallet to individual wallets. Used to pay out the team members in one go.
As for Blimpie it's probably just his version of an OpenZeppelin which has functions cut down to bare essentials to save on gas.
Here's an article that explains how some contracts have unnecessary code and calls in their functions.

You can look at ERC721A to see how Azuki created this to cut down on gas. A few projects are staring to adopt this contract: https://github.com/chiru-labs/ERC721A

Also Fishy dev fucked up and messed up the minting function. WL users could only mint 3 per wallet but you could transfer the 3 out and mint more. Think someone minted 100+ haha
ONLY DEAL ON SITE UNLESS VERIFIED BY PM FIRST

Wow! Thanks for the information. I'll definitely read up about it. Trying to wrap my head around this entire process and how it works.
