Has anyone been banned for region switching?

Hi,

For about 2 years now I have had my steam region switched to whatever the cheapest is, starting with Argentina and now Turkey.

I hear that Steam terminate accounts that abuse this, but I have never had an issue. -- Has anyone had any experience with this? I top up with either wallet codes or marketplace sales.

Be very curious to know, I have over 1000 games on steam and it's my main account so contemplating switching back.
From what I know, worst case scenario is they say they can't verify your location/payment method and reset you to your current location and currency.

Happened to some friends of mine, but nobody got banned or even warned from it.
however, If your account is brand new and you try to switch region, most likely they will lock it and demand your bank statements to verify ownership of the credit card.

I personally used to region swap whenever I could, since cheapest regions were always Turkey/Argentina most of the time.
when they changed the system to require using credit card, I decided not to bother changing regions.

I just have an account on Argentina region and another account on Turkey region and an account switcher for easier switching.
(also family-sharing enabled, if the game has family-sharing then no need to switch account to play it)
Personally, I suggest doing that since you won't have to jump through hoops to change regions over and over.
