How to copy the certificates of a PDF to another PDF?

Hi,

I have a document and it contains certain hidden certificates. How do I copy these certificates to a new pdf?

Is is possible to forge it?

If you're talking about digital signatures, any change to the PDF (or copying the signature to a new PDF) will invalidate the signature. The certificate contains a public key and a hash of the document and the owner's private key.
This is not possible at all.

Hi,

You can't "copy" the signatures but you can just request another cert from the PKI provider. No one can tell the difference unless they check the expiry. Which I doubt anyone does.

If they use the Adobe Reader app, the PKI provider needs to be AATL certified (here's how it works). But if they're just viewing it with some shit like Microsoft Word any PFX file from a reputable company would be ok.

Cheers!

The best way I can think of is to use a PDF editing software like Adobe Acrobat or PDF-XChange Editor. Then, extract the pages containing the certificates from the original PDF. Create a new PDF document and insert the extracted pages into the new PDF. Adjust elements as needed to ensure a seamless match.

You didn't even understand the question, did you?

Oh, of course, certainly OP can do this because he would have the private key and wouldn't be trying to send documents as someone else. 😛

Oops my bad, that was how I interpreted it …

Hi,

The AATL (PDF) keys are sold in a USB disk. PKI companies sell *.pfx files that bind to Windows Certificate Manager, without the need for a USB key. https://www.digicert.com/signing/documen...rtificates

I've actually already done this before.

Cheers!

Quick Edit: No one reads past the Common Name. If the original one is by GlobalSign, the other one is by DigiCert, as long as the green check mark is there, no one cares. Whether this is impersonating as someone or not, it doesn't matter.
