U.K. Police Just Seized £5.5 Billion in Bitcoin — The World’s Largest Crypto Bu

A Chinese national has been convicted for her role in a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme after law enforcement authorities in the U.K. confiscated £5.5 billion (about $7.39 billion) during a raid of her home in London.
The cryptocurrency seizure, amounting to 61,000 Bitcoin, is believed to be the single largest such effort in the world, the Metropolitan Police said.

61,000 BTC Holy shit. Bringing in 5.5 billion in dirty Bitcoin from one woman's flat. The double edged sword of BTC.

[Charlie Sheen]

I wonder if that will get sold and returned to victims.

That’s an insane amount of Bitcoin — £5.5 billion is absolutely massive. Crazy to think one case could mark the world’s largest crypto seizure ever. Also really shows how far crypto-related investigations have come — the coordination and forensic capability to trace and recover that much BTC is impressive.

[Hackers]

Yet again we see an incompetent individual arrested.

$7+ Billion seized... So she did nothing to protect herself, split funds, etc.

Incompetence makes the world safer.

[BlackMale]

I hears that they want to keep it all.

I wonder if that will get sold and returned to victims.

Hell nah. Trying to use it to fund more government spending!

Yeah, what do you even do with that amount 😭

[Oh_Well]

Wild story.. Cops are getting a lot more capable in tracking and seizing digital assets these days

[Fish]

Wild case. Shows how deep crypto fraud runs and how far enforcement has come.
