Is mining XMR (monero) is profitable?

I know bitcoin and other cryptos mining is not profitable but some where read mining XMR is profitable anybody mining xmr?
It’s easier to mine, mainly because it’s ASIC resistant. So you can mine with GPU/CPU. But profitability wise, the block reward is .6. The value isn’t much high, you’re not gaining a lot unless you don’t pay the electric bill.

So better to avoid it

Is there any currency that's profitable on a smaller setup with current coin pricing in terms for Dollars?

What’s most profitable crypto to mine if you don’t have an electric bill

This website ranks the best in profits for which mining equipment you can use. They have GPU, CPU and ASIC.

Just know that it might be tempting to mine a shitcoin, or a crypto you never heard of, just because the profitability is high. But also keep in mind that the hardware requirements can change year by year. Some of these coins can plummet to shit value. DYOR before considering investing your time and energy into any of them.

If I had a million dollars and I have the choice to choose between mining and staking, I’d honestly choose staking just because you don’t need to do anything but just keep your coins/tokens locked and earn APY.

In my opinion, Bitcoin will always be the king of mining, despite it being a very difficult hash rate, only because the value of it keeps skyrocketing high. Even folks who used websites like Nicehash to mine Bitcoin made a decent profit just because they were mining Bitcoin in 2014-2016 when the price was under $1000.
Monero (and everything else) is only "profitable" to mine with a big enough effecient enough setup.

As others have said the biggest thing is electricity, if you dont pay for it then everything is profitable.

Even if it is "not profitable" to mine you can mine at a loss (pay for electricity) and hodl the coin hoping it goes up in value enough to cover those costs.
Any mining can be profitable, it comes down to the cost of your power and the costs of your hardware. We can't tell you whether any given scenario will be profitable for you without first understanding:

What are you trying to mine from? GPU? ASIC?
What are the power costs in your area?
Electric bill to pay ? So, staking…
When it comes down to it by the time you pay for hardware and electricity, it's likely that if you just took that money and invested it into Bitcoin you would do better imho. I keep looking for an entry point but once I do the mining calculation, it's just small change. Home mining is one of two things. Lottery to win a Bitcoin block or supporting the network with a node. P

Unless you can scale earning $2 a month by 1000x you're never gonna make anything significant enough to make it worth it.
