HF Analytics and Parsed Logs

Today I took a single day of Apache log files and fed them into ChatGPT. Told it to parse the logs and give me detailed stats. Then I told it to make a post for me for advertisers.

This is what resulted....

Hack Forums Traffic Snapshot (Server-Side Analytics)

Why this matters for advertisers:
Hack Forums is a high-intent, tech-forward community with steady, real activity across threads, private messaging, and live chat. Below is a transparent look at recent server-side traffic from our Apache access logs.

Headline numbers
  • Total requests: 576,733
  • Unique IPs observed: 25,404
  • Unique user agents observed: 3,014
  • Successful responses (HTTP 200): 499,816

Note: These are server-side log metrics. “Unique IPs” is a conservative proxy for visitors. Many visitors share IPs (office, mobile carriers, VPNs), and some visitors rotate IPs. We can provide campaign reporting using standard ad tracking methods as well.

Engagement indicators
  • Most-requested pages include: homepage, index, threads, member pages, private messaging, and community features.
  • Healthy delivery rate: the vast majority of requests return successfully, showing stable site performance and consistent consumption of content.
  • Community actions are active: private messaging and live chat endpoints appear frequently in traffic, indicating real user interaction beyond passive page views.

Search + discovery visibility
Hack Forums is consistently crawled by major search engines and discovery platforms, which supports long-term organic reach and content findability:
  • Google
  • Bing
  • Apple
  • Social preview crawlers (Facebook/Twitter)

What this means for brands:
  • Threads and evergreen content continue to surface and be discovered.
  • Advertiser placements benefit from recurring exposure as content is revisited and indexed.

Brand-safe ad opportunities (HF)
We offer placements designed for visibility and performance:
  • High-visibility banner slots (above the fold, index and forum pages)
  • Thread-level placements where users spend time reading and engaging
  • Targeted sponsorships aligned with tech, security, privacy, gaming, and digital products
  • Direct deals available (no middlemen, fast turnaround)

Want the media kit + inventory?
Reply here or contact staff for:
  • Current ad inventory and slot pricing
  • Audience and placement recommendations based on your niche
  • Campaign tracking options (UTM, pixels, reporting, etc.)

Hack Forums is where tech-aware users hang out, research, and buy. If your product fits that world, HF can deliver serious attention.

I'd be kind of interested in seeing a heatmap of pages most frequently used, and those seldom used.

I could look at the activity of the Forum, but surely there are ones that don't get any traffic, or at the least, minimal?

I see it mentions being stable in there, I don't think I've seen CF popup like it used to when I was a skid, I remember when the site would go down every now and then from DDoSing and all the like.

Convo is active baby and we're popping off!

I like seeing behind the curtain, thanks for lifting it a bit.
Q: Do you get access to your data center? Any lewd pics of the baby running the site you are willing to share?

Heatmap created by GPT.

This is cool... Also pretty much exactly what I'd expect based on how I use HF.

Suprised search.php is so low considering I am always checking recent replies.

You sir, do love me. It does make sense that show thread is the biggest hit.
Some question, what is task.php? Also what in the world is a syndication? Group page?

Interesting Game CP is making the hit.

Wonder what other nice big data things you could generate that would feed the 'tism, but that was lovely, thank you.

The syndication is an RSS feed. Old school website stuff still used by crawlers and very few actual people. Tasks.php is run on every HF page it's how MyBB's Task system works. Every page load it checks the MyBB tasks system for any new jobs it has to run. An example would be changing Paid Stickies or expiring Upgrade Subscriptions. Currently HF has about 35 task files running.

Ah, that would do it. Interesting stuff my boy, interesting stuff. I guess MyBB never changes, just gets tacked on to and all the fun stuff.

Do you have any server photos you're willing to share? Like the ol' 4chan Mac Mini.

I have no idea what server looks like, I rent dedi's, I used to colocate my own server but it's actually easier to just rent nowadays.

Damn, last time I remember server talk being talked was when you were upgrading some RAM, I wanna say 64GB but honestly can't remember.

Crazy stuff. I guess data is data and you can data that anywhere since ultimately it is just PHP and some disk space.
