This site, 17 years ago… Skype is the preferred mode of communication between users off-site. Unverified Paypal business accounts ruled the marketplace. Cain and Abel was your packet sniffer. Obfuscation was just another word in your vocabulary… Trend Micro HijackThis was the preferred software to rid your machine of unwanted malware/software.

RAM prices were 10x cheaper. SATA RAID and PCI SLI actually delivered performance.

Get rich quick or go hack schemes quickly became “How to get rich and go hack” eBooks (PDFs) once their saturation reached capacity.

Awards on HF were few and far between.

Unsigned software was regularly downloaded and executed.

I wonder if this forum was more active back in the days ?

I'll put it this way. The only place I was active IRL or online, was this site.

Sounds amazing, I really hope it gets more active :)

I really hope the younger generation gets more into forums.

Sometimes I think about these good 'ol days lol... they were savage back then.

You'd wake up to random rep fucks and bans from omni. It was brutal lol.

Yeah it was very active but before EDR and when the law was more slack on certain areas of hacking or not slack but unaware it was thriving with malware, booters and all sorts. Groups also dedicated to trolling on top. Some of the best malware ever and loads of skids, it was wild. In a good way but you would dread speaking or checking the forum when you wake up.

Interesting really ! ✌

I remember those days too - the forum definitely had a different energy back then with more raw content and constant activity. It's interesting how online communities cycle through phases of activity and how much the internet landscape has changed since the forum's heyday. The shift from open forums to more centralized platforms probably contributed to the change in dynamics here.
