How to make animations?

How do I make an animated signature?
What do I use to make it?

I've heard that you have to use Photoshop CS6 and some people say to use After Effects.
You can make an animated image in any graphics manipulation software that allows for .gif images to be created. They won't look good, but it's possible.

Tutorial for the open-sourced program, GIMP:

I don't middleman any deals on- or off-site. Please don't message me requesting my past services and certainly don't fall for anybody who claims to be me.
So, I'm guessing Adobe After Effects is the way to go?
Adobe After Effects is better but if you want simple animations, photoshop will work just fine!
After Effects is probably your best bet because it can cover a wide variety of animations as opposed to Photoshop's limited amount. Either way, you'll need both programs to make decent animated gifs that you can export and use.
I'm doing everything on AE, it looks smooth and good

Personally all my animated designs are done from Photoshop, then to Adobe After Effects, AE by far the best software for it, really smooth and reliable. If you ever have troubles PM me.
Please PM me on HF regarding confirmation for deals via Skype.
