CCleaner is the number one tool for cleaning your Windows PC. It protects your privacy online and makes your computer faster and more secure. Easy to use and a small, fast download. Run CCleaner regularly, suggestively after you are done browsing or using your system for the day as it cleans temporary files such as cookies that may prove harmful.
Running items like CCleaner or Temp File Cleaner (TFC) to clean up temp files is a great start. Then from there you can run items like AdwCleaner and Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) to remove any toolbars, junk programs, etc. Once you've done all that, get a light weight antivirus like Eset or MSE.

You can use WinDirStat to find out what's taking up the majority of your space.
