Is it wrong to wanna learn how to code only for a well paying job and NOT because you're passionate about it. For example I want to make $75,000 a year. I feel like doing something in the Computer industry will help me hit that goal. So I wanna learn how to code as well as pick up some other skill sets. But this is not because I like coding for a hobby, this is all about the money so I can feel like I'm.. rich.
Is it wrong to wanna code for this reason? I'm 21 and all I know so far is HTML & CSS, but I wanna learn more. Just thought I'd say that so people can have a better way of responding to my situation.
I wanna learn more about the Computer field, but I feel like I'll be 35 before I hit my goal. I wanna be 27 making 75K a year. Not an old man with kids.
Is learning to code for money & not passion a foolish mistake? Please help.

Yes, it's foolish to dedicate your time to something you don't love.
What's not to love about feeling in control and solving puzzles AND making money 24/7?

Well it's not so much that I don't love it. It's just that I have a hard time focusing. Maybe I have a disorder or something. But because I have a hard time paying attention, I feel that coding will be something that will stress me out in my late 20s. See where I'm coming from?

Yes, it's 'wrong'. I can't even imagine putting all of the time and effort into programming that I do if I didn't enjoy it; I'd want to kill myself.
You will gain passion if you keep at it. Thats with everything.

It's perfectly fine to do it for the money. I know a lot of people who do their jobs only for the money. Some people, like me for example, hate the whole notion of work so there is no job that I would ever "love" and I only work to pay the bills.
If you really want to earn lots of money become a lawyer or go in to banking. Big money awaits.

I'm the same age as you. I started out programming at a far earlier age (7 years old) but I too have a short attention span. I get bored very easily. Over the years I've learned to split my working hours into several short "sprints", and I get as much work done as possible in those sprints. I also finish in the middle of a line of code, so I can immediately begin the next sprint. It helps out quite significantly with having a short attention span. That being said, I do love programming, so I'm not certain this would work out for you. It's important to pick a career you actually enjoy.
No it's not "wrong", you just might not be as successful at it. If you're gonna waste your time on something you don't love, you might as well do law or nursing. Better pay for the same lack of interest

Its not wrong lol
Its dumb af
Get your shit sorted bruh
i feel the opposite i love to code, just to make programs i need / want, don't care for the money, but of course you could but you will have to learn / practice alot before you start to make money, so will that be worth it for you, plus who loves you might start to love it once you get the basics down.
