Best languages to start off with?

I'm wanting to learn how to code in C++, Java, C#, etc. But I don't know the perfect place to start, nor where to learn from. If someone could possibly guide me into the right direction, would be greatly appreciated. Any links where I could start off, or e-books I can read would be great.

Thanks. 🤝

I find that for desktop development, Java and/or C# are great languages to start with. Java and C# expose the OOP model which is one of the most useful things you'll learn in any language that supports OOP. Java and C# are purely OO. They're also pretty similar in terms of basic syntax. Java, right now, is probably the best suited for cross platform [high level] development but I reckon C# will be perfected on multiple platforms - right now it's mostly stable but I still run into problems. You could also go down the modern route of learning JavaScript and using something like Electron to develop cross platform applications.
You could then try out C/C++ since I find that it's great to have knowledge of at-least one lower-level language.

If you're wanting to do web development then go ahead and learn the front-end languages a bit and then go for PHP and Node.JS or even Ruby or Python too.

Give us an idea of what you'd like to make and we can suggest more suited languages and provide reasons for each.

Hey mate thanks for the reply, I was looking into both really web development, and programming simple programs/tools, etc.

Web development is easy. just start with basic html/css and php. If you're going to program simple tools then use visual basic and other .net IDE. You can use http://www.codecademy.com/ for web and youtube for .net
If you are starting with Web Development
1) Learn HTML (Its pretty easy),Learn at codecademy but that's not enough use w3schools as references.
2) CSS (Its easy as well)
3) Javascript (This may require maybe few months in order to be perfect in this.Me myself is not perfect using JS xD)
4) Jquery (Used for animations and transitions on a webpage or with webpage elements. Its a part of Javascript only but Its pretty good If you don't wanna go into detail and get some faster results without working hard). In my opinion go for Jquery first and then Javascript.
5) Later on,PHP and other stuff. (Honestly,I don't know anything about server sided coding)

I would prefer you to contact 'Vezel' (HF USER) if you have any kind of issues.
He's best at this stuff.

That's it.

All the very best.
You can learn web related languages at codeacademy.
If you would like to learn C++ i recommend to take a look on C++ Primer.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, going to close this and going to go read some e-books and tutorials. 😊
