Hey, my SSD just arrived and I have a slight problem. I have windows 10 on my current HDD and want to pass it over to my SSD and boot it from there. However, my windows is not activated and I do not have the CD Key and no money to buy another one either. Is there anyway I can do it without a key?

Ah I guess I'll have to not use it untill I get the money to buy a win10key. Anyway, thanks a lot!

Why didn you think of a serialkey-generator or other kind of cracking tool? They are easy to find online and work pretty well. If you are lucky and find a genuine one that is.. I believe I still have one somewhere in my warezz-archve (I hope) I used it myself often to activate trial versions that I downloaded as a 100% safe to use ISO-installationdisc! Just like that! Clean and for free at Microsoft'main websites 🤭 .. If you get into trouble later on ( if in some way the license-code doesn't work ) you just let me know! Good luck. I was trying to find a way to transfer it to my SSD straight up so it booted from there without fresh installing it. Windows ISO image can be downloaded from Microsoft servers using Windows Creation Tool. You don't need product to make clean install. Step when they ask for product key you can skip and use OS for 30 days without problems.

However, if you are asking for a way to activate Windows, purchase a genuine copy of Windows from Microsoft or buy one off from Amazon. College students can recieve discounts on these products. Follow the steps there to create the media, and then follow the steps under the Using the installation media you created (click to show more or less information) expansion section. Finally, back up all your documents located in your C:\Users\%username%\ folder (Videos, Documents, Pictures) and note any software you have installed. You can install Windows 10 on the new SSD, and copy all the documents from your previous hard disk drive and reinstall needed software. Backup all serial keys beforehand for any paid software. Software needs to be re-installed, of course, unless you use something known as imaging. When you image a hard disk drive, you replicate all the data on it to be used again. Since you are only upgrading the hard disk drive, you can attempt to re-image your new SSD also instead of performing a clean install. I like to use Macrium Reflect to create a new image backup of my current hard drive, and then re-image the new hard drive with my previous hard drive. It's like taking a photo from a photo frame and replacing the frame, at its most simple terms. Please let me know if you need any help.
