Bro, its simple, look at the company and see what they need or could use. If you build a portfolio showcasing Dark Theme, chat support bot, automations, etc that they could use, you'll get the job easy. Look at reviews/complaints on the company and have the fixes in your portfolio. If the company mentions working on something point out in the resume you have completed what they want.
Its super easy to stand out, most people dont put in any effort, they just do the status quo. The reality is most people dont want the job, they want an excuse to avoid it
I buy Amazon Gift Cards & Crypto for CashApp. PM me if you're selling
Truth had a very good response. What new things can you bring to the table? But I did read your post. It’s not about what can you do, it’s about getting an interview. Definitely just think about how you can be different and SHOW your potential future employer how valuable you are. They can’t read your mind.
As for the crappy college - I personally would never take that too seriously considering that I’ve done well in life as a 20 year old that dropped out and chose to take opportunities. Unlucky for you, I think we work in very different trades and yours is based on a shining college career. I wish you the best of luck!
Network through people you know; or pay/use a trial for premium for LinkedIn. Taking the initiative to directly message hiring managers or even emailing a company works wonders.
Other than that, mass apply. Apply to EVERYTHING that is related to Information Technology. Already going to assume that with no professional experience, you are at least listing projects you have or are working on. A personal website will make you stand out. A lot of developers create a game out of it to make it interesting for both themselves and for the visitor. An example is a 8bit game that is similar to mario. As you beat the level, you get to see his resume/experience. That can be a lot of work, so I wouldn't bother doing it. It's a nice-to-have. Code |
