What’s the very first thing I should do to get into hacking?

1. Learn networking. Do some free CCNA courses online, trust me it will make all the difference. Networkchuck has a pretty good one to start but it doesn't get into the deeper stuff.

2. I might get judged a bit for this but ChatGPT is really good. If you're dealing with a really specific situation and nothing shows up when you search it, yeah you could post on reddit for more complex stuff, but ChatGPT is a good instant substitute.

3. Do some expirementing. Try installing Linux in a virtual machine. Try cracking some applications. Visit an application on the dark web, use SSH, VNC, and RDP for the first time. Try making a VPN server. Try using FileZilla. Get started with nmap. This will help you get more well rounded.

4. Learn some programming languages. The languages you will want to learn will vary by your goals, but for black hat hacking some good options are Python, Go, and C++.

5. Try breaking into things from Vulnhub. Try using metasploit.

6. You have a pretty good base now, just start doing what you like. Maybe build a botnet.

PS: I'm gonna explain some things here. Vulnhub is a place with operating systems that have vulnerabilities for you to try and break into.
Metasploit is something that holds lots of vulnerabilities.
Nmap is a tool to scan networks for open ports and vulnerabilities. Zenmap is a good GUI to get started.
SSH is a tool to access the command line or terminal of another computer remotely.
VNC is a tool to remotely access the desktop of another computer.
RDP is like VNC but you are not able to see what they are seeing. Only one person can be on the computer at the time, the person physically at the computer or the person connecting via RDP, unlike VNC.

This is how I would get started if I was relearning everything. Hope this helps!

I would suggest start with the basics , learn how does a computer work you can't protect a device if u don't know how does it work

Well before you start with anything, you first need to have a goal or maybe an objective to make it a motivation. Once you have that thing, the next thing you have to question is are you doing this purely for knowledge or for money? Then that is when you study programming, networking, social engineering, and all the things people would mention here. 🙃
